God’s Protective Grace

9/11- a year later

Intro

Today you have probably all heard and seen a lot about 9-11 last year.  It would be wrong of us not to at least talk a little about what happened last year, but I want to look at the bigger picture a little bit.  How what has happened and what is happening is a good picture of what can happen to our personal lives.

The Bible says in Ro. Chap. 3 that “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…  Gal. chap. 6 says that God will not be mocked, a man will reap what he sows.  Making reference to the fact that if someone plants corn seed, he will of course get corn stalks, and similarly if a man sows seeds of sin in his heart he will reap destruction…yet thankfully a lot of us don’t get what we deserve…why?  As a nation we have not gotten what we deserve, if you think about it.

End Times Judgment

P. Bill talked about the labor pains mention in Mt.    Signs that the end times are beginning to roll into their final phase.  Why?  Is it because the alarm on God’s Cosmic Clock just went off?  No, God saw from eternity past that this would be the time for judgment because of us turning from Him.

*  Think about how a nation that was founded upon the principles in the Bible and Jesus’ Lordship, has now turned away.

* Think about how we have ripped God out of the schools, and now we deny Him as our creator.

* We have made the Almighty Dollar our god, our first love, and our highest pursuit

*Think about our last president.

*Think about the millions of babies that have been murdered each and every year for over 30 years.

We are a nation with Blood on our hands.  Yet we have enjoyed blessing like no other nation ever in the history of this world.  You travel anywhere, and you will see how blessed we are. 

Since 9/11

*Thousands die in terrorist attack

*Anthrax attack

*millions of acres of forests have burned

*economy is in shambles

*record draught in many states especially Carolinas

*West Nile Virus is spreading like the plague

!!! God’s Umbrella of Grace

God’s Protective Grace is covering us like an umbrella.

*In a world that is broken and filled with sin.  A world where satan is referred to as the god of this world, why do so many Christians seem to rise above and live blessed lives? 

BALANCING – certainly we go through trials, but if we stick with the Lord and are walking in His will, His promise is that we will never go through anything that will be beyond our strength to endure.

What happens when we consciously make the decision to step out from under that umbrella?  Judgment.  9/11 is a great example.

* What about you personally?  Where are you at?

Gala 6:7 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

How close are you to walking out from under the umbrella into the rain?

*There are people in this room tonight who are living at the edge of judgment, after God has called out to you and chased after you and still you silence His voice. 

*It is not easy to find the edge of the umbrella, because God’s grace is so amazing and huge, but it is possible.
