*See it, Be it!*
*Intro*
Self image.
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
When the idea of you comes to mind, who are you?
How would you describe yourself?
Probably the biggest question that most of you are struggling with is who am I…really?
Today most people are coming to the wrong conclusions, because they form their identity based on their life experiences.
“Well this keeps happening in my life so I must be this” The problem with this “environmental determinism” is that we live in a broken world where bad things happen to good people.
Things don’t work like they are supposed to…because of sin and the free will to inflict it on others.
We also know that there is an enemy of our very souls who is seeking to destroy any chance of us becoming what God desires us to be.
So what do we do in this struggle to figure out who we are, and all this garbage is stacked against us?
We fight!
We stop reacting and start acting out!
We stop floating with the current and start swimming for our lives!
Because if you can See who you are supposed to be, you can fight and become it!
If you can see it, you can be it!

\\ *The Battle for the Mind*
*/Proverbs 23:7 says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." /*
You cannot live a positive life with a negative mind.
And many times the problems that we face are created from wrong thinking patterns that actually produce the problems.
Vision problem in most teens
All you see are your flaws, your shortcomings, because you don’t see a healthy pattern of relationship around you, or because Satan has tricked you into thinking that somehow you are sub-standard and defective.
Plus it can seem like that is all that the people around you point out to you.
Girls, you are notorious in this area for blowing things out of proportion!
~*~*Skit~*~*
Most of the time you are just living and reacting based on how you feel at the moment.
And when rough times come you don’t have the strength to fight because you don’t know what you are fighting for.
“Well maybe I’m supposed to be miserable and pathetic!”
What if you had a picture of yourself that could lead you through times of uncertainty…sort of a glimpse into the future that you are supposed to have.
Wouldn’t that make things and decisions a lot easier if you had a general idea of how things were supposed to turn out?
Well there is not magic box, but there is God’s Word and it tells us how we are supposed to end up…and it is goooood!
But the problem is now.
Many of us don’t latch onto what the Word tells us, and we allow *wrong patterns of thoughts* to develop and as a result our actions are screwed up.
*2 Corinthians 10* Paul talks about pulling down the Devil’s strongholds that exist in our thinking.
He says that they are mighty in God for bringing every thought into captivity to the knowledge of Christ.

Meaning?
When we have thoughts come into our minds that are in violation against what God has said that we are, we’re supposed to grab that thought and rub it’s nose in what the Word of God says!
*Who we are vs.
Who we think we are*
Thought: “I’ll never be free” vs. “He who the Son sets free is free indeed!”
Thought: “I’m such a loser” vs. “Thanks be to God who causes us to triumph in Christ”
Thought: “God is disappointed in me…I’m not even going to go to Him in prayer and ask forgiveness.”
Vs. “come before the throne of grace boldly.”
Thought: “I’m never going to get past this.”
Vs.
“for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers and rulers of the dark places.
Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!
No weapon formed against me will prosper.”
“I am God’s child, His hand of favor is upon me…I can’t lose or be defeated because He has made me more than a conqueror in Him!
He has made me the Head and not the tail, above only and not beneath.
He has blessed all the works of my hands and will cause me to triumph and prosper!”
“I am going to live in the Joy of the Lord for it is my strength…the world didn’t give it and the world can’t take it away!”

Can you see that?
Then Be that!
*The Best to Be*
The idea of having a mental picture as a goal is not secret; it is not even a Christian-only idea.
There have plenty of example of men and women that have been driven by a picture of success and destiny.
The difference is that when you arrive, then what.
Is there fulfillment?
Is it worth all the fight and sacrifice.
Have you sacrificed all that really matters to achieve your dream?
If you truly want to be fulfilled, get ahold of what God has uniquely created you to be.
How?
Keep your eyes focused on Jesus.
Let your identity be formed within the one who created you, loved you and bought you at such a high price.
*Summary~/Altar*
If you can see it you can be it
Eyes focused on Him
If the eye is dark the whole body dark…
Once was blind but now I see.
