III.  How to

Make the choice

You want to see God use you?  Then it starts in your own heart.  Make the decision with determination to go after more of God in your life.

It doesn’t matter where you are at tonight spiritually.  You could be a newborn to the faith, or have come out of the womb singing Amazing Grace. 

It doesn’t matter…there is no competition.  The amount of faith someone has doesn’t make one Christian “better” than another, since we are all saved by grace.  But whoever you are and wherever you are at,

the potential for greatness in the Kingdom of God lies within you.

Upgrade Your Faith!

Intro

People are upgrade crazy.  Bill Gates has made his billions off of it. I have it to!  My new laptop!  People in our culture get bored easily and we need new, more exciting toys to play with.  You know we think that we are getting smarter…evolving.  Really we are all turning into spoiled brats. 

As we go along in time, the further we get from living by Biblical truths.  It gets more and more confusing as everything around us tells us to go one way, and we know that God is calling us another way.    There needs to be an increase in our faith!  All of us…no matter what degree of faith we have, we need more.

Luke 17:5 (NIV) “The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’”

Hebr 11:6 (NIV) “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

It’s time to upgrade your faith!

I.  Out With The Old

We can no longer afford to live the old type of Christianity that America is used to.

Christianity ¹ believing in God, being a good person,  and attending church

Those are things that we do, but it does not define who we are. (Devil believes in God, plenty of “good” people going to Hell, and we know there are people who sit in the pews every Sunday, who are not in right relationship with Jesus)

As the world and the Kingdom of God get further and further apart, it will be harder for carnal (wordly) Christians to exist.  It will either be God’s way or the world’s way. 

The world is getting more and more hostile towards fundamentalist Christians.

As the fence rises it will get more and more uncomfortable until you finally have to get off the fence and choose a side..

II.  In With The New

Christianity = Follower of Jesus Christ

Matt 16:24-25 (NKJV) “Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

You will never have the power to change the world while you are still like it.  You have to lose your old life. 

Miraculous faith.  Signs and wonders.
