Let's Go Back to the Old Landmark
Bishop Bryan N. Walker Sr.
Sunday School: The Anatomy of Prayer
We studied Matthew 6:9 (what we know as the Lord's Prayer). Open with making declaration of the greatness of God (adoration). Recognize the need to ask for daily provision. We confess our faults and ask forgiveness (debts/trespasses). Close with recognizing God's sovereignty.
Sermon: Let's Go Back to the Old Landmark
Scriptures: Judges 2:8-15
We have raised a generation who don't know God.
It seems we have forgotten Proverbs 22:6 (Train up a child in the way he should go...)
We need to stand in the gap for our children and be responsible for their spiritual upbringing.
We should also remember to "provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4 ).
*Be present for our children
*Be honest with them in our dealings
*Be able to say no if their requests are simply unreasonable
*Support their dreams, and not necessarily impose our dreams in them.
*Introduce our children to Jesus!
WE NEED REVIVAL!!
Revive our spirits in the fear and admonition of the Lord!
