I talked about this topic in the last message of our Cartoons series, But our text has led us to tackle the subject again. A little different angle and little more in depth then last time. In a nutshell we have learned
“GOD LOVES US SO MUCH THAT HE HAS SAVED US AND PROMISED US AN ETERNAL INHERITANCE! NOTHING THAT HAPPENS TO US ON EARTH CAN CAUSE GOD TO BREAK HIS PROMISES TO US!”
In light of that magnificent salvation, Peter gives his readers three commands:
1) BE HOLY (VV. 13-16).
2) FEAR GOD (VV. 17-21).
3) LOVE ONE ANOTHER DEEPLY (VV. 22-25).
In my last message on I Peter, we covered the first command, today we’ll look at the second, and next Sunday we’ll talk about the third one. It occurred to me that if we were making this list, our order might differ from Peter’s. We would probably list them this way:
