God the Provider
God supplies the needs of all creation, but gives special care to his own people.
God is called, “The Lord who provides” (Ge 22:13-14)
I. God provides for the needs of all creation
He provides for the earth (Ps 65:9-13)
He provides for the animals (Ps 145:16, Mt 6:26, Ps 104:27-28)
He provides for all people (Ac 14:17, Ps 107:9, Mt 5:45)
He provides for the poor and needy (Ps 140:12, Ps 35:10, Ps 146:7-9)
God provides for the needs of all creation. And God also supplies the needs of all creation, but gives special care to his own people.
II. God's special provision for his people.
First, God provides for their practical needs (Php 4:19, Dt 2:7, Ps 111:5, Mt 6:25-33).
Transition: God not only provide for the practical needs of his people, he also provides for their protection.
Second, God provides for their protection (Ps 5:12, Ge 28:15, Dt 33:27, 1 Sa 2:9, Ps 91:9-13, I Pe 1:5, Jud 24, Re 3:10).
Transition: God not only provide for the practical needs of his people, he did non only provide for their protection., God also provides for their every day need
Third, God provides for their every need (2 Pe 1:3)
III. Implications of God’s providential care
First, freedom from worry (Mt 6:31-33)
Transition, not only from freedom of worry but also generosity.
Second, generosity Luke 6:38, I Ch 29:14, 2 Co 9:6-11, Ph 4:18
Transition, not only freedom from worry, not only generosity, but also faithfulness.
Third, faithfulness (Ro 2:4)
