How do we devote ourselves to the Ministry of God?

Notes
Transcript

Intro.

The last few weeks we have been going through the book of Acts. If you don’t know much about this book, it is known as sort of a guide book for the Christian church. If you are starting a church or looking to model your church after something, the book of Acts is a great place to start.
Now, we have gone through chapter 1 and most of chapter 2 in the book of Acts in recent weeks:
Jesus was crucified and rose again on the 3rd day
He presented Himself to the disciples and commissioned them
The Holy Spirit came upon them after Jesus ascended into heaven
Peter preached a message of repentance to the people (which is what we talked about last week).
This morning, I want to finish off chapter 2. So, if you would, turn with me to Acts 2:42-46. And while you are turning there, I want to present to you 3 questions. These 3 questions, I feel like, are on the minds of most believers in society today. And you can correct me if I’m wrong later, but I feel like for all of us who are believers, at some point in our relationship with God, we think about these:
How can I better myself for the ministry of God?
How can I grow in my relationship with God?
How can I effectively engage this culture we live in for God?
The answer to these 3 questions I believe is found in these 4 or 5 verses. Follow along as I read this please.

How can I better myself for the ministry of God?
Now, I don’t know about any of you here today, but my biggest fear in life is not doing the will God. Maybe I am being a little crazy, but I have seen in Scripture so many people not doing the will of God and things end badly.
