to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

salvation through faith
"When the coin in the coffer rings, the soul from purgatory springs."
Johann Tetzel, a Dominican friar, was the Pope's master salesman.
Elisha's bones were what Catholics call a "first-class relic": part of the person himself.
So Elisha died, and they buried him. Now bands of Moabites used to invade the land in the spring of the year. And as a man was being buried, behold, a marauding band was seen and the man was thrown into the grave of Elisha, and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.
second-class relics: items that have power because they were connected with a holy person (Elijah's mantle and even Peter's shadow)
2 Kings 2
third-class relics: something that has merely touched a holy person or first-class relic of a person (handkerchiefs that had touched St. Paul).
Note: King Hoshea destroyed the relic that Moses had created and God was pleased.
He removed the high places and broke the pillars and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the people of Israel had made offerings to it (it was called Nehushtan). He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel, so that there was none like him among all the kings of Judah after him, nor among those who were before him. For he held fast to the Lord. He did not depart from following him, but kept the commandments that the Lord commanded Moses. And the Lord was with him; wherever he went out, he prospered. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and would not serve him. He struck down the Philistines as far as Gaza and its territory, from watchtower to fortified city.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

“Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.
Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.
Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
Colossians
Against
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
no longer as a bondservant but more than a bondservant, as a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,

Sexuality - Stephen
Sexuality - Stephen
Sex is good. In Genesis 1:22. and later after the flood he said it again in 9:1 “be fruitful and multiply” and, for our pleasure, he made it fun. Things go very wrong though when we step out of what God intended it to be and go our own way.
When the Psalmist says in Psalm 127:5, “Blessed is the man who’s quiver is full” of children, it results in worship to God.
When we cannot have children because of the effects of sin in the world and we seek to adopt, we rejoice with the Psalmist in Psalm 23:4, and say, God is good even in the valley of the shadow of death, I “fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Sex is good and God even says in 1 Corinthians 7:1-5
1 Corinthians 6:16–20 - Sexual immorality
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

How to treat our leaders - Stephen
How to treat our leaders - Stephen
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
Ex 20:12; Dt 5:16 - Honor your father and mother
Mt 19:19 - Gospel, Parents
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
