4342. προσκαρτερέω prŏskartĕrĕō, pros-kar-ter-eh´-o; from 4314 and 2594; to be earnest towards, i.e. (to a thing) to persevere, be constantly diligent, or (in a place) to attend assiduously all the exercises, or (to a person) to adhere closely to (as a servitor):—attend (give self) continually (upon), continue (in, instant in, with), wait on (continually).

4343. προσκαρτέρησις prŏskartĕrēsis, pros-kar-ter´-ay-sis; from 4342; persistency:—perseverance.

“Let us run with patience.” (Heb. 12:1.)

TO run with patience is a very difficult thing. Running is apt to suggest the absence of patience, the eagerness to reach the goal. We commonly associate patience with lying down.
