At the time of my preparation of this message, the 2020 election has not yet taken place. By the time this message is preached, either Donald Trump or Joe Biden will be president. The outcome of this election will have a profound impact on our country, our city, our church, and our families. It seems that regardless of the outcome, our country may at any moment erupt in chaos and violence. Every day, a dark shroud of uncertainty covers the future. We may have very difficult days ahead of us. Regardless, we are to continue to do what the Church was always called to do, and that is to worship the triune God together and proclaim the lordship of Jesus Christ. God has always used trials and hardships to refine and strengthen his people. History is replete with examples of God bringing about great victories and reformations in the aftermath of overwhelming darkness and apparent defeat. So take heart, brothers and sisters. No matter what you suffer, God is
