You Are The Church

1 Peter 2:9–10 KJV 1900
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

INTRODUCTION

In this series we have looked at:
The Selection of God’s People
The Status of God’s People
The Sanctification of God’s People
The Specialness of God’s People
Today we will deal with the Showing of the Church.
Peter has shared with us as it relates to who we are. we are the church, the people of God. We are Chosen, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, and a Special people.
So now that we know who we are. Now that Peter has clearly established our Identity. What should our response be? That is the propositional question from which I want to work from today. The text in verse 9 after the semicolon says “that”. that is a conjunction of purpose.
