2 Corinthians 5:16–21 ESV
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Colossians 2:11 ESV
In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
2 Corinthians 5:14–15 ESV
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
John 8:15–16 ESV
You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me.
Romans 6:4 ESV
We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
Ephesians 4:20–25 ESV
But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
Zechariah 8:16 ESV
These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;
Colossians 1:20 ESV
and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Romans 5:11 ESV
More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
1 Corinthians 1:30 ESV
And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
Romans 5:10 ESV
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
Philippians 2:7 ESV
but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
Matthew 11:28–30 ESV
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
RECONCILE ACCOUNTS IN PRAYER

1.16.20

VERSE 16:
Colossians 2:11 - we put off the flesh by Christ
MSG - (2 Corinthians 5:14-15) he included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.
John 8:15-16 (MSG) - You decide according to what you can see and touch. I don’t make judgments like that.
We are not to view anyone from a human point of view. (NET) We ARE to distinguish according to the Spirit.
Because of our conversion - our salvation we no longer evaluate people based on externals, physical or natural views (BKC).
VERSE 17
Romans 6:4 - walk in the newness of life
Ephesians 4:20-25 put off the old self -- YOU DO THAT!
Zechariah 8:16 (NLT) But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your
courts that are just and that lead to peace.
VERSE 18
Colossians 1:20 - all things reconciled through His Blood
Romans 5:11 - we receive reconciliation
MSG - All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.
NLT - So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view.1
AMP - But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him].
things: we have privileges in this new creation but also responsibility
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 - to live controlled by Christ and to live for Him
reconciled: Jesus restored us to His favor by satisfying the claims of justice against us! Now we are to be like Him and proclaim this for others -- HOW? we are IN HIM -- by virtue of standing in HIM and in union with Him we walk, act, talk and live the way He wants us to.
VERSE 21
1 Corinthians 1:30 - Jesus became sanctification - we not only desire, pray and long to be like Him - we are like Him!
We are not only forgiven because Jesus paid the death penalty for us -- He IMPUTED perfect righteousness of His Son to us --
It is the great exchange! The word reconcile is actually a picture of exchanging coins. So we change from enmity to friendship -- we live from this friendship with God.
Romans 5:10
God’s sense of justice had to be satisfied and He did it through Jesus. God’s sense of justice was satisfied… then why do we think that we need our sense of justice to be satisfied… God’s terms were met -- but we want our terms to be met...
We stand righteous - pointing fingers, or throwing stones, or lashing out or speaking condemnation -- how does that even work?
We cannot really bear the burden of taking this position with ourselves and with others… so we learn of Jesus (Matthew 11:28-29)
First in ESV
THEN Read it in TPT
What do we learn: humility -- gentleness -- a servant (Philippians 2:7)
Matthew 11:29–12:1 (The Message)
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
It’s better to be yoked with Jesus than to yoke yourself with judgment
Psalm 106:23
Matthew 15:22-30
Matthew 9:18-26
Mark 2:4
Matthew 7:20
Mark 6 - Jesus feed 5000 and in Mark 8 - feeds 4000
