Prepare your minds for action (1 Peter 1:13)

Peter’s first letter to the early church was written to encourage the Christians of that time in the face of coming persecution. So often we read about the persecution Christians experienced in the early centuries

Persecution to them:

1. Losing their homes
2. Losing their families
3. Being burned at the stake
4. Being fed to the lions in the arenas

Persecution to us:

1. Being verbal criticized for our beliefs
2. Losing a friendship
3. Having to find another job that allows us Sundays off
4. Feeling uncomfortable around people who drink and curse
