The world hates Jesus and His followers (15:18-25) Romans 1:32 - 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. Proverbs 29:27 - 27 An unjust man is abominable to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is abominable to the wicked. Romans 8:7 - 7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, Expect the world to hate you. Acts 9:4 - 4 and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" 2. The Holy Spirit enables us to overcome the world's hate (15:26-16:4) Even though the world hates us, we are still commanded to make Jesus known. Philippians 2:15 - 15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among you appear as lights in the world. Acts 26:18 - 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.' 2 Timothy 2:26 - 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. A world enslaved by sin will always hate Jesus, yet Jesus still saves sinners from the world when we make Him known.
