Christians are supposed to be happy. In fact, we are supposed to
radiate joy, peace, and contentment that is so unmistakable and so
attractive that others are naturally drawn to us because they want what
we have. And yet, in today's culture, the vast majority of Christians are
perceived as angry, judgmental people who don't seem to derive any joy
from life whatsoever. So why aren't we happy? Join us Sunday mornings
at 9a starting March 18 as we discuss this topic. Materials: Randy Alcorn’s
book: Happiness, DVD sessions, and workbook.
Mission News – On behalf of more than 4 million of our persecuted Christian
family members whom VOM helps each year, I want to thank you for your
prayers and gifts. Many of our persecuted have asked me to share Philippians
1:3 with you – “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.” I pray that
you will receive their thanks with great joy. You have blessed and encouraged
them in their time of great need. And from God’s Word, I want to encourage
you with Gal. 6:9, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due
season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” We know God wants us to
advance His gospel message and to stand together as one completely united
body. Together, we will surely reap a harvest for eternity!

Recommended Reading:
Delighting in the Trinity: An Introduction to the Christian Faith, by
Michael Reeves
This book is well-titled. If you’ve ever wondered what the Trinity is all about
and why it matters (and you should!), you will find this book a treasure.
Reeves makes the case that in many ways, God’s character is defined by
His Fatherhood and His eternal love for the Son. Then he takes us on a
delightful journey to see how this truth affects our own existence. With
humor and precision, Reeves leads us on a wonderful discovery of why it
matters that we worship a triune God. Answers questions like, what was
God doing before creation? How does God’s love co-exist with His
judgment? Don’t we all worship the same God, just by different names?
Outstanding book. Highly recommended.
The Congregational Letter regarding the name change is available in the
foyer at the back of the church. Please submit written name change
suggestions to the church office or one of the Elders by March 11. Vote
will be taken after church on March 18.
