Mission News – The Voice of the Martyrs, August 2018 Most Americans know very little about Eritrea, the most restricted nation on the African continent. . . . Despite the risk of imprisonment in horrifying conditions, our brothers and sisters in Eritrea continue to boldly witness for Christ. The country’s leaders are notorious for their brutal treatment of anyone viewed as a threat or opponent, including thousands of Christians who suffer simply because they faithfully witness for Christ. Please pray: that Eritrean Christians will have the strength and grace to endure persecution and faithfully witness for Christ; that Christian prisoners will be released and that Eritrea will restore freedom of worship. Thank you for your partnership in prayer and action. This book includes outstanding insights on God’s perspective on such situations, how to deal with them, and how to help others. Particularly helpful is a chapter on what not to do – and a chapter by Dave’s wife on dealing with an impossible human situation. Prayer Chain: We pray corporately for the needs and concerns of our church family. If you would like to be added to the prayer chain, please let Patty know at pattymcneff@yahoo.com. Church History: We're looking for old pictures of the church. If you have one or know of someone who does, please let Leslie Fagerberg know. Free Books: We are offering books free of charge. These are located in the foyer and will be changing weekly so check back for the latest assortment.
