In Peter’s House

Can you image Jesus coming to your house?

May have been Jesus’ ministry headquarters.

Jesus was willing to come to Peter’s house.

Jesus is willing to come you.

Jesus saw Peter’s Mother in Law

We feel insignificant

Matthew does not even tell us her name.

We don’t know how sick she really is?

All we know for sure is Jesus saw her!

Can you image that an insignificant person like yourself is being watched over by the king of the universe?

Jesus is willing to touch you!

Here is woman probably in pain, definitely suffering. Jesus could just as easily said to Peter, “Hey Peter, what’s wrong with your mom, dude?” To which Peter responds, “Oh it’s nothing Jesus, she just has a little fever. You needn’t worry about her.”

When Jesus touches you, your response should be to serve Him.

When Jesus touches Peter’s mother in law, she immediately gets up and starts serving him. What did she do for Jesus? Well according to some scholars the greek for “serve him” has the idea of cooking something for him to eat.
