I. INTRO
A. Communion commemorates Jesus’ work on the cross which provides 4 our salvation
a. In sharing 2gether it honors his death which paved the way for a forever rel. w/God
1. It’s our way o saying thanks God!!
B. Don’t have 2 b a member o our Church 2 share in communion
a. We only expect that u have a rel. w/Jesus through accepting God’s free gift o salvation
C. Song: “At the Cross, Love Ran Red”
D. We believe:
a. these elements (bread & Juice) are symbols
So, as Jesus says this is my body & blood...
i. He’s saying that the bread & Juice symbolize…points to the work he would soon do
II. The Body: new life
Matthew 26:26 ESV
26 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
A. He exchanged his life for our death so that we can live.
John 6:35 ESV
35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
a. Jesus provides a new life that is eternal & sustaining, we need no other way of life
b. Pray & take the bread

III. The blood: washing sin.  
Matthew 26:27–28 ESV
27 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
A. But Jesus' blood is the most powerful cleaning agent on the planet.
a. Bleach cleans & makes white
b. the blood changes the substance. Makes new
c. it washes away that sin.
B. This is the new covenant
