Intro:

Often times people of God we find ourselves in the midst of difficult decisions. Most of the time the first thing we do is calculate and strategize according to our own knowledge. We utilize our ideology or our experience to try and figure things out. Usually when facing a difficult decision emotions get involved, and once emotions get involved our focus is diminished. Once our focus is diminished our vision is impaired. Meaning we cannot see the situation totally clear. Once this occurs then we find ourselves looking at a situation unclear and then we generally present unclear options. I say this because we have to understand church that when we face a difficult decision we need to do like the fireman told us to do when a fire is present. The you need to stop, drop, and roll. Once you Stop or pause for a moment take a deep breath then you need to drop meaning lower yourself in humility and pray to God for a solution or an answer. Then you need to roll with whatever God says! Don’t Miss It! I can almost guarantee that God will tell you do something that you don’t want to do, or something that you in your mind don’t think is a good idea. If you Roll With God watch God work it out for you. Can I get any witnesses that God will work it out?!?!?!?!?!

Text Work:

After Jesus had finished spiritual bootcamp being tempted by the devil in the wilderness he started his ministry in Galilee. It is amazing that God chose to start his salvific ministry in the hood instead of in the nice neighborhood. God could have started in Jerusalem in the temple with all its glitter and glam, but God chose to start with poor working folks. After Jesus had been rejected in his home town of Nazareth he cast out devils and healed folks down the road. To give you good contextual comparison Jesus lets say was from Murray City, but they rejected him so he went to Alamo and Bells and cast out devils and healed all manner of deceases. Then he began preaching in Galilee.
That brings us to our text today as Jesus reaches what Luke calls the Lake of Gennesaret. This is actually the Sea of Galilee, but Luke uses this term to give geographical reference. Which pointed to a highly populated area on the northern side of the Sea of Galilee. As Jesus was preaching the crowd grew, because he’s in a small city like Jackson now. And the crowd grows so large that he asks Peter can I get into your boat to preach. Peter being tired from fishing all night said sure come on. This brings me to my first point you have to be open to Jesus in order for him to get on your boat! I just wonder if somebody will be honest and say the only reason why Jesus isn’t on my boat is because I didn’t allow him to come on! Some of us Jesus asked to get on our boats or in our live or in our careers or in our marriages, but we made excuses instead of inviting him in. Don’t miss it!
Let me make a few more points and I will get out of your way. They were washing their nets which means they had quit and they were done. But Jesus does something that Jesus generally does and ask you to do something abnormal! He told Peter to launch out into the deep. Now church let’s stay in the context. This son of a carpenter but is a preacher is telling a professional fisherman how and when to fish. Now I understand Peter’s response. Lord we already tried and tonight was not our night, because we didn’t catch a thing. Right now in my opinion is not the time for fishing. Can I help someone real quick? God’s miracles can only show up in abnormal circumstances. So when God tells you to do something in the wrong time and in the wrong season it is just right for a miracle! I came to encourage someone to not wait until the time is right, but move when God tells you to move and watch what God will do! tell yourself Don’t Miss It!
Next point I want to make sure that you here me well. There were two boats. Jesus got in one boat. Don’t miss this. Jesus gave instructions in one boat, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t speaking to both. I am going somewhere stay with me. Sometimes in church we miss God because we think God is only speaking to the Leader, the pastor, the Bishop, or the Apostle, but when you hear God’s instructions you need to follow them or help the leader in them. When Jesus told Peter to launch out Peter stated his professional observation, but then said but at your word I will. I wondered why Peter obeyed so willingly, but if you read back into the 4th Chapter Peter had already met Jesus, because Jesus healed his mother of a fever. Don’t miss this, so because of what God has already done I trust you enough to obey you! Don’t miss this, when you see God work in someone else’s life that should give you enough faith to know that if God did it for them He can do it for you! Say Don’t Miss It!

Close:

So Jesus was talking, teaching, preaching, and instructing on one boat, but there were two boats. I want to talk to some people listening today. Many times God will speak to someone, but because He didn’t get directly in your boat you don’t think he’s speaking to you. Some people feel insignificant, because you don’t have a title. Insignificant because you don’t get to preach at large venues. Insignificant and unimportant, because you feel left out. By all means He could have gotten in your boat, but he got in someone else’s boat. Can I talk to the folks in the other boat? Peter and Jesus in Lukes story are the main characters, but the star of the story is the other boat. When you analyze the facts of the story you will notice that everything would have gone wrong if it wasn’t for the other boat. When Peter and his crew launched out into the deep out of obedience. Can I say it like this when the Pastor launches out into the deep at the command of God in the wrong time, in the wrong season, and with the wrong equipment. Will you follow them? When the harvest started coming in. The Bible says that they caught so many fish that their nets were breaking! So they called for their partners. Don’t Miss it! Church I won’t to tell you that you may feel unimportant. You don’t think it matters if you get on the FB live. You think it doesn’t matter if you pay your tithes and give an offering. You think it doesn’t matter if you don’t encourage your leader, but I have news for you. It takes both ships to get it done. If you are near by and partnering with who God is talking to then watch God fill your boat too. Matter of a fact if it wasn’t for the second boat getting filled the first boat might have sunk. I said something right there. The first boat can’t be so greedy that you don’t allow God’s abundant blessings to fall on those who partner with you. You can’t always take in sometimes you need to learn how to partner with someone or an organization in order to get the fullness of the blessing! Don’t miss it! Don’t miss it! Don’t miss your blessing, because when you hear God although God may be talking to someone else He hasn’t forgotten about you! The truth of the matter is the second boat is just as important to the miracle as the first boat! Don’t miss it! There are two boats, but there’s only one Jesus talking! The harvest is not linked to the boats but the blessing is linked to those who listen and follow Jesus! Don’t Miss It! husband when God is talking to the wife. Don’t miss it wife when God is talking to the husband. Don’t miss it CEO when God is talking to your employees, and Don’t miss it employees when God is talking to your CEO. Don’t Miss it Pastor when God is talking to someone in your church and don’t miss is church When God is talking to your lader. There may be more than one boat but there’s only one Jesus talking!
