Lord save me
Psalm 61 Psalms is divided into 5 books written by several different authors but the majority of them are penned by King David. Psalms are a collection of poetry life’s experiences ups and downs, valleys and mountaintop King David penns here in Psalms 61 about lifes compliextires, its anxieties, and how to escaped the world impending snares of been overwhelmed. Have you ever been to the point in your life, where you just feel like giving up,and giving in, the pressure of life have taken such a toll on our minds we feel like we are at our end, we feel it better to just throw in the towel and throwing our hands up; There's always something happening around us, there is a sense we can never get ahead, Its like when we feel like we ahead and have taken two steps forward, there's always something that happen that pushes us back. And I don't know about you but I feel like sometime I cant catch a break The news, social media are filled with reports that apply pressure upon our mental and spiritual outlook That if one more thing happens may heart is going to burst, its going to exploxed The psalmist longing for God is reocurring thought thoughtout Psalms 61 an deep expression of God's love arising out of great adversity. There times we feel alone even when we are surround by a group of people, phyiscally we are engulfed by family, friends and coworkers but somehow we still feel a sense of isolation, desolation and loneliness. But how can that be, men throughout time have been trying how to fill a void with things and substance apart from God And there is no one who can hear the lamentation or the cry of our heart, not even our spouse understand what we are feeling or going through at times. There's a place in our heart God has reserved for Himself and He is the only one that can fill this empty space It's the devil job to make us feel like we are all alone by ourselves and try to make feel like no one understands; isolation and desolation are the cousin of vulnerability In Psalms 61 David lament our heart as if he was upon our tear stain pillows; have you ever crired in the night hour, longing for some relief So David says in vs1 "Hear my cry, O God" David wastes no time, he is in a desperate situation, he is in a pressing situation and he is expressing by his word structure he needs an immediate repsond, immediate attention to his condition because something is trying to destory his soul Have you ever been there before where you needed a immediate respond from the Lord, you need Him to step in the midst right now because there somethings that hard pressing against your mind, and if He dont deliver now you are subject to a breakdown So he goes directly into what he needs God to do, he's not cute with it, he doesnt take a long time getting there; Sometimes when we are in a desparate situaton and dont have time for our regular wordy prayers, we go immediate to heart of the matter So he says Hear this word implies in the Hebrew has several different meaning but one there is one definition that fits David and my cause; This word hear carries the meaning to eavesdrop, or intentionally listening to a conversation; so when David says Hear I believed in other words he is saying, Lord eavesdrop upon my heart, I need your undivided attention Lord; the words of mouth do not adequately express the weight of my heart So I need you Lord to look past the words of my mouth and eavsdrop on the condition and the conversation of my heart. My heart is having a conversation that it needs a touch for you and Lord you are the only one that can lift me up from I am David cries out to God with fiery passion; Lord I need you to take charge of my prayer; we seek to in every prayer for the Holy Ghost to take charge in prayer because it knows the mind of God, and it pray according to will of God In vs2 notice Davids spiritual location, he feel like he is very far from the presence of God its like he is at the end of the earth; have you ever been there before, David uses this metaphor to point out he's feels like there is a feeling of hopelessness, alienate, and spiritual distance from the Lord Have ever been in a dry place. a wilderness, there seem like there is no way out, your spiritual condition feel very far away from the presence of God Some of us are feeling the same way right now even though we are physically present here but mentally and spiritually were in a distance place I am in a dark deep horrible pit, that where I'm calling from this place of isolation. When my mind feels weak, when I am in a state hyster at a point where I am about to lose my mind; Lord this is what i need you to do; Lord I need you to take lead, take charge, I dont know my way out of this place, but I know you know so I need you to carry me on eagle wing, I need you to take me to a place a rock, a place of protection, a fortified strong place, a refuge, a secret place, a place where the enemy cannot get to The bible says He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadowof the Almighty, I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my fortress my God in him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver you from the snares of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shalt you trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.Thou shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrows that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that waseth at noonday. a thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come near you Note David pray begins to change from a pray of despartion to focusing on his help; have you ever notice the longer we stay in pray the stronger our pray becomes We start in weakness, uncertainy, and complaing and as the Holy Ghost takes charge, it energizes us to a new level in the spirit The bible says building up our most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost; the bible says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avail much Remember what God has been and done for us in times past; he has place of hope, someone We can put our trust Back to vs2 of our lesson the Psalmist says from the end of the earth will i cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than i The Psalmist is literally physically and emotionally spent, where deliverence seems to be a remote possibility. But as the psalmist does pull yourself up and look to the hills of your strengh He says lead me to imply; Lord we need some guidence, direction and instruction to get above this situation, this condition in his life. the only place he can obtain deliverence is getting to a place First lead me to the rock,to a place that is solid, stable, and secure, a place of protection Secondly that rock must be higher than i, not just a rock but the rock; in other words someone greater than me or men. Men cant hide me from, he is saying Lord hide me in the cleft of the rock For you have been my trust and confidencc in times past a shelter, a place of refuge, a tower of strength a place where the righteous can run be safe He says in vs4 I will abide, i will dwell in thy tabernacle. I will dwell in thy habitation forever. I will trust in your covering ; as the chicks run under covering of protection; Lord save me Sometimes i get into place where there seems like there is no help, i feel so far from you Lord save me Sometime the enemy wins the battle Lord save me and give the me the victory over the war
