CITP: The way those that follow Christ lived their lives and what they did in the name of the Lord.

CISP: The way to give thanks to the Lord is through our acts of ones life.

P: The church will be encouraged to be faithful in they way they live life and serving others.

Opening Thought-

Have you ever been invited to a meeting and you realize that you might be in the wrong room or the wrong seat…I was invited to a lunch with some pastor that are extremely knowledgeable in the field of Biblical theology.They started talking and my eyes just started to glaze over. Why was I a part of this lunch again…?Lord What can I do or give…?

Bible- Matt. 25:34-36

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

We live in a world that wants us to think bigger and better!Thinking about giving are you or have you already thought about what you are going to get for your spouse, child, or family member for Christmas. It better be bigger and better than last year…Well last year I gave this much money and this year I am doing even more.We could go on and on with Big giving, but unless it is about God what you give will not last.

Always looking to have the biggest or best, is a guarantee that you will always be looking.God’s economy doesn’t work the way we think. The Biggest giving more times than not are in the little things.

I have nothing to give…Jesus made it very clear what it means to give…giving food, relationship, taking care of, those that are ill and those at the very bottom.What do I have to give?Giving isn’t about what you don’t have but about being open to give of your resources and of yourself at any point.

When we learn that giving isn’t about what I have to give away but about the heart. The heart inside of you.Is my heart ready to give to those in need around me?Let us stop standing behind the idea or the copout I don’t have anything to give.

The King will say to all those that gave, 34 ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”The God of all is a good, good God and he gives Amazing most wonderful gifts to those that live life with a heart that is open.Catch this, Jesus says, “that people asked how did we do that.”It was so much a part of their lives that it was part of who they were.

Giving thanks to the Lord is a lifestyle. It is something that becomes a way that you and I live.We aren’t in this thing for the reward that we fell is due us because if that is the case then I am worried that you might be sadly disappointed. The day we stand before the King may the Lord say “Your life was well lived in Giving Me Thanks! Welcome.”
