Our Journey in Mexico
• Give thanks for the opportunity to share our mission and for the support from the church 1 minute
• Share how we got to serving in Mexico staring from the Tangible Kingdom study and donating our truck to Poncho and starting to work with Weekend missions
3 minutes or so
• Share how Tom and Marie collected blankets and jackets to hand out to people of Rocky Point and they needed someone to help show them around.
3-5 minutes
• Talk about My Contagious Generosity and the gardens and that they are called F.A.I.T.H. Gardens and why. We have one garden in our yard, one at a local community center, and 4 other locations in the city. 2 of which were started by the families that we shared the vision with and told them how it was done and they took it upon themselves to get going on their garden.
• Talk about the different things we are doing at community center(Esperanza Para Nueva Vida). Life's 8 healing choices, exercise classes, classes on how to garden starting with making soil, sewing classes run but a lady that runs another non profit in Rocky Point, future plans to have cooking classes to show how to cook the vegetables they are growing, classes on canning fruits and vegetables, and many more things to come
• Share how we do a bible study on basic Christianity every Thursday at a house out in the community and how through this study and the moving of the Holy Spirit we baptized 4 people in October.
• We now are taking over 20 people to church each Sunday some of who were not going to a church or who were not going regularly in the truck we donated 2 years ago and God gave it back to us.
• Read Ephesians 2:10 and talk about the fact we all have a purpose and we just need to slow down and make time to ask God to reveal to each of us what it is.
• Share how most of my life I struggled with a learning disability in Jr. High that I failed 4 out of 6 classes and I felt life a failure. I worked hard all through High school and graduated barely.
• I started out in the work force right out of High school and was happy to be done with school. I was successful by the worldly standards and moved up the corporate ladder making good money but still feeling like I was not doing what God created me to do.
• It wasn't until Martha and I went to a missionary conference in February this year with 43 other future and current missionaries from all over the world that God confirmed to me that I was doing exactly what He created me to do. We love what we get to do everyday and though it is not easy and we have gone through many trials at the end of the day we know we are in God's hands and that He is in control.
• Our newest vision is to purchase a piece of land that has a house on it that is right next to the community center. This will allow us to be even more active in the community because we will be living in the center of it and we will have full access to the community center to do more activities
