Ezek 38:1-2

1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him
Wait! Who are these guys?
Good question. If you look on a modern map, you won't find any of these countries. God knew, when He gave this prophecy, that countries change names and people tend to move around. Therefore He described these people using names of tribal groups dating back to the immediate Post-Flood period. The Bible gives us two major passages to help us interpret these two verses:
Genesis 10:2-5
This judgement is against Gog the prince of ROSH Libya, the East, Persia The East Russia from the north, Persia, Ethiopia Modern Day Persia called Iran. Ethiopia use to be called CUSH. CUSH trained Nimrod to hate the God of Noah. Because of what Noah did to Canaan. Libya use to be called PUT. That blood line is still fighting against Israel Genesis vs 10 reference. Russia will use the Arab nations to go out and fight against Isreal.
Ezekiel 27:10–15 ESV
10 “Persia and Lud and Put were in your army as your men of war. They hung the shield and helmet in you; they gave you splendor. 11 Men of Arvad and Helech were on your walls all around, and men of Gamad were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around; they made perfect your beauty. 12 “Tarshish did business with you because of your great wealth of every kind; silver, iron, tin, and lead they exchanged for your wares. 13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech traded with you; they exchanged human beings and vessels of bronze for your merchandise. 14 From Beth-togarmah they exchanged horses, war horses, and mules for your wares. 15 The men of Dedan traded with you. Many coastlands were your own special markets; they brought you in payment ivory tusks and ebony.
Ezekiel 38:3 ESV
3 and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
Ezekiel 38:4 ESV
