To be in the light, we must accept Jesus as our savior.

We must willingly admit that we sin and seek forgiveness for that sin.

We must love others. There can’t be room for hate in our heart.

We must be spiritually growing

We should be encouraged to have the truth of God.

We must always seek to do what is right.

We need to love another

Keep keeping His commands

Read 1 John 4:1-21

Noticing a pattern here in 1 John?

Have you ever gotten some really bad advice?

Getting advice from ungodly people……

Where should we go for wisdom?

Who is someone you could go to for sound biblical advice?

Proverbs 31:14–18 ESV

14 She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. 15 She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. 16 She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

Proverbs 24:6 ESV

6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.

Throughout this passage it talks about Spirit.

What’s John talking about?

Who is the Holy Spirit?

John continues to beat this drum about love.....

So, is love important then?

How are we loving others?

God is love…..

And John ends this passage with this command that he has already given....
