Kindly Affectionate
Kindly Affectionate
10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
1 Let brotherly love continue.
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
1. Not lagging in diligence-
Sometimes we get discouraged because of the burnout that has been generated.
Burnout:
job
children
Church
Example: running out of gas, because you didn’t stop to get your tank filled.
2. Fervent in spirit, serving the Lord
Let your spirit be filled with excitement.
In order to do that we have to make sure our spirit is getting a chance to fill ourselves with the Spirit of the Lord.
*Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
Rejoice-
20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
Patient- Patient in affliction is another characteristic New Testament attitude. Patient may give a wrong impression; Paul’s word denotes not a passive putting up with things but an active, steadfast endurance
Continue in Prayer- Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.
Faithful in prayer brings us to another characteristic of New Testament Christianity. Paul has a great deal to say about prayer, and it is clear that he himself was constant in his praying.
We are left in no doubt but that persistent prayer is a necessary part of the Christian life.
