A HIGHER POWER TO GOVERNED ME

From his creation man has believed and fashioned his social life to the belief that there was a superior life force that controlled or governed his world and the events of his life.
Even the pagans who knew not the God of heaven and earth, the native Americans, the Vikings and Cave men believed in a god who they should pay homage to and worship in some form or fashion.
It was believed that favour from the their gods would give them good crops, good lives and victories in wars.
Adam in the creation was instructed by God Elohim that his prosperity and well being would come through obeying God’s word and serving Him as the only power to be reverenced.
Even in Adam’s disobedience he continued to uphold God as the supreme being of the universe.
As man began to increased on the face of the earth, he wavered from true worship of God to paganism and even atheism.
Let us look at the the book of Judges:
Jdg 21:25  In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
Paul references this in his letter to the Romans:
Rom 1:21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
But has seemly believed that someone should led them. And the this leader would have great knowledge and take on the responsibility of their social clan and solve and resolve the daily issues of life for them.
So in these cases man chose men to lead them and gave to them great reverence and riches from themselves.
An then these leaders worshipped what ever god the community had made for themselves.
Note these human leaders led to the advancement or demised of the nations they were over.
In most cased as we look through history every leader has eventually failed their nation in some form or fashion.
2. It was never God’s purpose for man to govern man and for man to be governor over his fellow man.
Listen as God speaks to the children of Israel:
3. Exo 6:7  And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
Deu 5:32  Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
Deu 5:33  Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
Isa 43:15  I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.
In other words Jehovah-God tells His people I alone will be your leader. I alone will give you life instructions for prosperity and longevity. I will fight your battles and every nation will fear you because of me.
God appointed no monarchs to be over man but rather had prophets and priests who would seek god for the people.
And the great result of this is that God was always perfect in His wisdom for His people.

The Error of Wanting To Be Like Them

Through time with the failing of the nation of Israel themselves and the often failings of either the prophet or his sons sins, ( note the sons of Eli and Samuel), the people decided incorrectly as they did at the base of Mt. Sinai to ask for another form of leadership......................................................
They forget that they have disobeyed God and strayed many times from His will and rather place all the blame for their ills upon the prophet Samuel and his wayward sons.
They ask that Samuel give them a man to be over them as the pagan nations and not any longer wait to hear from the prophet a word from the Lord.
1Sa 8:1  And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
1Sa 8:2  Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.
1Sa 8:3  And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
1Sa 8:4  Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
1Sa 8:5  And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
1Sa 8:6  But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
1Sa 8:7  And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
1Sa 8:8  According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
1Sa 8:9  Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

The Negative Of The King

God tells the prophet Samuel the people are not rejecting you but rather they are rejecting Me.
So let them have their King and but let them know what the consequences of having man over them instead of Me.
Samuel's Warning Against Kings
1Sa 8:10  And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
1Sa 8:11  And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.
1Sa 8:12  And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
1Sa 8:13  And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
1Sa 8:14  And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
1Sa 8:15  And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
1Sa 8:16  And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
1Sa 8:17  He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.
1Sa 8:18  And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
In this historic election of 2020 The Right was trying to keep the man that they believed was their hope for their version of American and the Left was attempting to rescue their America with the man of their choice.
This election is for the kingdom of the earth and man.
We are citizens of the kingdom of heaven.
No matter which man we elect, that man is flawed and has to answer to other men who control the agenda,
What ever man we elect will not be completely satisfied with their performance.
We may even regret voting them into office and come the next election are more to eager to get them out of office.
When we decide that the Lord God is our king and leader and we pray and depend on Him for our leadership then we will not stress out about the man-king.
Obama did not full fill all of the black folks of America, Donald Trump did not finish the wall for the Republicans and this new president when his term is over will not satisfy all either.
God warned Samuel that the man king will make you satisfied only for a season and then he will use the office for himself and take from you. Because man is man and flawed.
God spoke to the Church and said : 2Ch 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Vote the Jesus ticket and win.........................................
Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords......he turns the heart of the king....he gives us favour before the presence of man.....he says the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous people.....
If I’ve got Jesus I have enough......
