The man of faith speaks faiths
Romans 10:17 NASB95
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
So to speak faith we have to get the word in us
After I got done preaching one Sunday someone sent me this
“you can say what you have or have what you say.”
of course this is again a faith statement
Mark 11:23–24 NASB95
23 “Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
And does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen
Matthew 8:13 NASB95
13 And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed that very moment.
When Jesus healed the blind man in
Matthew 9:29 NASB95
29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.”
Luke 1:36–38 NASB95
36 “And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. 37 “For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.
Now watch this according to your word…
The word of God communicated to us is living and active. But this word or this revelation must have a dwelling place.
Just as the Logos (what is Logos?) became flesh and dwelt among us, so must the spoken Word find a house to inhabit.
Where is the house?
Once the word of God finds a place to inhabit it will bring forth the life and the character of God.
If you want to know The Father, you must know Jesus; if you want to know Jesus you must read your Bible.  And as you read the Characteristics of God you begin to see him.
And
1 John 3:2 NASB95
2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
“…when he appears or when we see him, we shall be like him.”
Allowing the word of God to come in us is what transforms us and makes us like him.
Holy, Righteous, pure, sinless
David said in
Psalm 119:11 NASB95
11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.
, “Your word I have treasured (Hid) in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.”
The word of God is to dwell or make it housed in you.
Colossians 3:16 NASB95
16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Or let the word of Christ make its house in you.
This is the purpose for reading the Bible.  For the word that comes forth out of the mouth of God is to make its house in you.
The word of God comes in through three ways:
Reading the word.
How will you know what God said it if you never heard him say it.? Don’t just trust others, read the Bible for yourself.
Always come to church with a Bible.
See the Word, read the Word, believe the Word, and SPEAK THE WORD
I must say some have read other books about the Bible more than we read the Bible. There is nothing wrong with reading other books, but the Bible has to be the foundation, not what others happen to write about the Bible.
Let’s say you know me and you always had access to me but instead of coming to me to find out about me, you went to others to find out about me.  It would be one thing to have access to me then go to others to further your knowledge of me.
But if you want to know the source, go to the source.
2. Meditate
Psalm 1:1–3 NASB95
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
To meditate means to ponder, regurgitate, think aloud, consider continuously and utter something over and over again.
Meditating on the word of God can be likened to putting a dry sponge in water.
Meditation is the process of filling our self with the word of God just as the sponge is filled with water.
Look at
Joshua 1:8 NASB95
8 “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Notice the book of the Law. What is that?
Shall not depart from your mouth.
How do you not let the Bible depart from your mouth?  Meditate on it.
When?
Why? So you can do what is written in it.
How will you know what is written in it, if you don’t read it.?
And what is the result?  You will make your ways prosperous.
Who will? You will.
We need to get to the point where we love the word of God.
And we say like David did in
Psalm 119:97 NASB95
97 O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
The goal of meditation is to make truth a part of your life, to make the word flesh.
Bill Gothard’s technique of meditation:
Memorize - brings your mind into focus on the word
Visualize       - create mental picture of the word
Personalize  - apply the truth to yourself
Melodinize    - respond to God in praise by singing the word
Meditation is the method of bringing the word before our minds and into our hearts then out our mouths.
Psalm 19:14 NASB95
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
3. Speak the word
Mediation gets the word of God in your heart.
Now the word heart in the Hebrew is the word Leb, which means mind or thoughts. Now remember you cannot separate one from his thoughts.
Proverbs 27:19 NASB95
19 As in water face reflects face, So the heart of man reflects man.
Proverbs 4:23 NASB95
23 Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.
Luke 6:45 NASB95
45 “The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
Matthew 15:18 NASB95
18 “But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.

You can always tell the people who lack the word of God in them by the things they say.
Proverbs 18:20–21 NASB95
20 With the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach will be satisfied; He will be satisfied with the product of his lips. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
Romans 10:10 NASB95
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Your mouth will confess what you believe.
2 Samuel 23:1–2 NASB95
1 Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, The man who was raised on high declares, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel, 2 “The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue.
