Show Me the Good
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord.
6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, Lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: For thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
The battle of the millenium - Good vs Evil...
We have watched in our lifetime the decline of a nation - who at one time touted - “In God we Trust”. That is the official motto of the United States - but it is not the testimony of most Americans.
The actions of a nation where evil prevails is the conversation in Ps. 4...
David the Psalmist is calling out to God and condemning the evil doers of the day...
Vs. 6 - “There be many that say, Who will shew us any good?...”
“...Who will shew us any good?...”

Show Me the Good
And we know that all things work together for good… Rom 8.28
Like the people in David’s day, they - the people were looking to God… Many were looking to God -
“...Who will shew us any good?...”
God, what good can this bring?
God, I can’t see any good?
God, can you show me any good???

Voter fraud on everywhere…
Miss Lena received two ballots - of course, she only voted once - but how many received multiple ballots and used them...
if a republican was dishonest and committed voter fraud, they would be prosecuted… but I doubt that the dems would be prosecuted...
If Hillary could destroy subpoena’d documents and go unchecked...
If Adam Schiff could make false statements to congress and the people of the US and not be charged...
If a socialistic - left wing agenda could be embraced and voted into office… in AMERICA...
I could join the people in David’s day and look heavenward and say...

People who had experienced the oppression of Communism
People who had experienced the poverty of socialism
People who had experienced the terror of dictatorial / corrupt government...
At Ellis Island, they came by the masses...
They were welcomed by Lady Liberty
in the early 1900’s, Emma Lazarus’ poem was put on a plaque that was attached to the base of Lady Liberty...
“...Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Our troops have fought, bled and died to protect the freedoms of Americans and many other all around the world.
It has not only been for the land of the free and the home of the brave, it has been for others who have been under the great terrors born not of democracy -
Show me the good - when Evil triumphs...
12 A naughty person, a wicked man, Walketh with a froward mouth.
13 He winketh with his eyes, He speaketh with his feet, He teacheth with his fingers;
14 Frowardness is in his heart, He deviseth mischief continually; He soweth discord.
The scripture shows us how to respond when evil prevails.

Sodom
we do not deserve God’s mercy - but God is a God of mercy...
20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

Nineveh -
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

A certain man purchased a paper at a newspaper stand. He greeted the newsman very courteously, but in return received gruff and discourteous service. Accepting the newspaper, which was rudely shoved in his face, the customer politely smiled and wished the newsman a nice weekend. A friend observed all of this and asked, “Does he always treat you so rudely?”
“Yes, unfortunately he does.”
“And are you always so polite and friendly to him?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Why are you so nice to him when he is so rude to you?”
“Because I don’t want him to decide how I am going to act.”
