Last Week I preached on How God wont always give you what you want but he will always give you what you need
I talked about how I had gone up into the mountains of idaho hopeful to take a deer a elk a bear anything but that never happened but God doesn't allow or do things without a purpose After a few days of hard hunting Clint and i began to have doubts if we would have a opportunity to take a animal or not if I was going to get what i wanted. I wondered if it wasnt for the hunt what else could the purpose be?
Then one after noon silvia the kids and i drove up to warren roads went from snow to ice without chains without cell service things got dangerous quickly, We encountered a drunk driver in a attempt to avoid him we slid in to side of his vehicle. Again not what i wanted then we went 15 miles down the mountain and slid off the road into a ditch we were stuck definitly not what i wanted. Fear creapt into my m ind thinking we oly have A 1/4 TANK OF GAS THIS IS HOW PEOPLE DIE IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCE AND HERE I WAS WITH MY FAMILY
Silvia and i begain to cry out to god to help us just the a old man can to out aid and he said I will not leave you he helped us get my truck out of the ditch and safly back to the motel room, I preached last week how God used that man to remind me that I had what i needed and that is Him, He was there in that mountain he was our god gied gaurd rail through the likes of a drunk driver who very well could have saved us from fallinf off the cliff side he was there with us when we were in the ditch and spoke to me and reminded me I am with you I will not leave you
Though I didnt get a deer I got what i needed which was given through scary situations situation that could have led to our death but It was so much more than a deer or elk provide God is with me he will never leave me nor forsake me
So this week I want to talk about this election, Wed night I spoke about how it is God alone who raises nations and kings and God alone who brings them down, I spoke about the consequences of a godless nation and how God will hand them over to wicked rulers to bring His judgement upon them.
Today I want to talk about Why we should not be afraid Why we should not Worry
Philippians 4:4–7 NKJV
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
1. We need to pray not worry
1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
He cares for you he desires to hear your cries like david the psalmest
Psalm 22:1–2 NKJV
My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent.
1 Peter 3:14 NKJV
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
Matthew 6:24–30 NKJV
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Why to we worry is it not because we worship the comforts of this life?
Should we not Worship the God who has given us these very comforts and it is him who also takes them away for they are his alone
Job 1:21 NKJV
And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Matthew 6:34 NKJV
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Do not worry about what may or may not happen about who is or who might be in office about what policies they may or may not change
Look if we worshiped God as much as we do politics the tv the music the news the political party which we support what more would the kingdom look like?
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Hebrews 10:24 NKJV
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
We ought to be focused on heavenly things not earthly things
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Isaiah 35:4 NKJV
Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
Matthew 11:28–30 NKJV
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
