18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

BROADCAST: TUNED OUT & TUNED IN (Romans 10.14-21)

Galatians 3:2 CSB
I only want to learn this from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law or by believing what you heard?
The Message Rejected & Received (Romans 10.18-21)
Israel…(18-19)

Their message has gone out to the whole earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun.

They have provoked my jealousy with what is not a god; they have enraged me with their worthless idols. So I will provoke their jealousy with what is not a people; I will enrage them with a foolish nation.
Gentiles…(20)
Isaiah 65:1 CSB
“I was sought by those who did not ask; I was found by those who did not seek me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am,’ to a nation that did not call on my name.
Israel…(21)
Isaiah 65:2 CSB
I spread out my hands all day long to a rebellious people who walk in the path that is not good, following their own thoughts.

BROADCAST: THE BROADCASTER’S CONTROLS (Romans 11.1-12)

God’s Determined Plan (Romans 11.1-7) …remnant preserved.
God guarantees himself a people…always…according to his plan…and for his glory.
The elect remnant of Israel...
1 Kings 19:10 CSB
He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God of Armies, but the Israelites have abandoned your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I alone am left, and they are looking for me to take my life.”
[& 1 Kings 19.14]
1 Kings 19:18 CSB
But I will leave seven thousand in Israel—every knee that has not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.”
Revelation 7:9 CSB
After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.
God’s Determined Plan (Romans 11.7-12) …complete calling.
Total Gospel picture has always been larger than Israel...
Deuteronomy 29:4 CSB
Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.
[Moses]
Isaiah 29:10 CSB
For the Lord has poured out on you an overwhelming urge to sleep; he has shut your eyes (the prophets) and covered your heads (the seers).
[Isaiah]
Psalm 69:22–23 CSB
Let their table set before them be a snare, and let it be a trap for their allies. Let their eyes grow too dim to see, and let their hips continually quake.
[David]
Acts 28:28 CSB
Therefore, let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.”
…& Israel who will trust Jesus, too!

CONCL—

Salvation is all a work of God. We celebrate that he has always chosen and preserved a remnant from among his original people as well as from every tribe and tongue to be his church!
In times in which we live…I am thankful for the truth of the saving work of a mighty, sovereign God.
Romans 11:12 CSB
12 Now if their transgression brings riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness bring!
