Do What The Apostles Did, Say What The Apostles Said – Advance In The Apostles’ Doctrine

Acts 2:1-4, 37-42 (King James Version) [EMPHASIS MINE]
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. ;
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
2 Tim 3:16-17 (King James Version) [EMPHASIS MINE] 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
GOD’-Word vs. Mans’-Tradition results in countless, needless tragedies. See unfortunately, we the church fell prey to Satan’s strategy, and we began to let tradition overshadow the word of GOD, thereby denying the witness of GOD in power .
Matthew 15:8–9 (AV)
8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
WE NEED THE CHURCH TO STAND UP
Eph 6: 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places., Eph 6:12.
col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son, Col 1:13.
Acts 26:16–18 (AV)
16But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
remember the purpose:
1 Corinthians 12:7 (AV)
7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8-10 identifies that there are different gifts
verse 10 identifes tongues - not as the initial evidence but as a gift
remember the purpose:
1 John 3:8 (AV) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Destroy
① to undo someth. that is used to tie up or constrain someth., loose, untie bonds
2. to loose one bound, i.e. to unbind, release from bonds, set free
THE PURPOSE OF OUR GIFTS
MINISTRY
WHAT DOES MINISTRY DO?
WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH US
King James Version Chapter 5
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
6 We then, as workers together with him, ... beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR TONGUES
1 Corinthians 14:4 (AV) He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
1 Corinthians 14:3–6 (AV)
3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
5I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Jude 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, KJV
1 Cor 14:18-20
18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. KJV

d. In reference to the spiritual gift of tongues- Do all speak with tongues? NO. (KJV, 1COR 12.30)
e. Tongues can be angelic language or human language. (KJV, 1Cor 13.1)
f. Tongues edifies the individual and not the church unless there is an interpretation following. (KJV, 1Cor 14.4, 5)
