From Ritual to Worship

Useless Sacrifices (1-4)

We cannot effect the spiritual through physical rituals

God is a person and must be treated as such

He desires a true relationship

Ariel- God will make Jerusalem a sacrfice

Psalms 51:16-17

Incomplete Judgment (5-12)

God will allow enemies to come agianst Jerusalem according to his judgment

However, God will remain faithful even though Israel has not

The true judgment will come through spiritual blindness and destruction

If Israel continues to blind themselves than they have no hope

They must turn to God in true worship

Necessary Worship (13-14)

Mouth worship instead of heart worship

Fear of God that is only a commandment of man rather than a true understanding of who he is and what will do to those who are not his

He will bring eternal judgment to all those who look to the wisdom and understanding of this world
