CHOOSING GOD’S WILL

Intro:

Last week we talked about God’s will as both broad and specific.

Today, (last installment of the preaching series) we'll talk about the clear decision people need to do to willingly choose God will.

Read John 7:1-18

Jesus is at the peak of his ministry in Jerusalem.

This is part of the passion week when Christ entered Jerusalem in a donkey.

The Jewish religious leaders are crowding against Jesus, following him, plotting his arrest in connivance with Judas Iscariot, which eventually went to His crucifixion and death. It all happened within that week.

In this time, Jesus is in high gear in proclaiming the kingdom of God that includes God will. Jesus was likewise emphasizing that choosing to do God will lead the people to experience the life changing power of the teachings of Jesus.

What is the correlation of the will of God and the teachings of Jesus?

Why is it that the willingness to do God’s must come first?

What teaching and authority is Jesus talking about?

HOW TO CHOOSE TO DO GOD’S WILL

OBEY THE WORDS OF CHRIST. Jesus’ life and teachings are rooted on the will of God.

SUBMIT YOUR WILL TO GOD’S WILL. Place your entire life into the superstructure of God’s will.

SPEAK & ACT GOD’S WILL. Your words and your actions must always give voice to God’s will to other people.

Conclusion:

Choosing to do God’s will is the best decision you can make. Upon it rests the real meaning of your life. All the things this world can offer are all temporary or superficial. The person who chooses to do God’s will is even now experiencing eternity in their heart.
