Truth Tabernacle of Praise 11/08/2020 What are some of the differences between the Red Sea and the Jordan River? The Red Sea was an Exit from some-where but the Jordan River was an Entrance into some-thing! The Red Sea was an Escape from some-where but the Jordan was an Invasion into some-thing! The Red Sea was a Band of Slaves coming out from bondage, but the Jordan River was a Bold Army going into supernatural living! The Red Sea was a Band of Slaves headed toward Sinai to learn how to worship. The Jordan River was a Band of Soldiers headed toward Canaan to claim their Inheritance! There is a vast difference between someone who has Experienced Deliverance and someone who is ready to Claim their Inheritance! Christians who get stuck in the memories of yesterday never experience to freedom and abundance of tomorrow! God must move us beyond the shadow of yesterday toward the bright light of tomorrow! Tragically many churches are more like Red Sea Christians than Jordan River Christians. There are many churches that get stuck in a time warp and all they have to talk about is "yesterday's glory" or "yesterday's miracles" or the way things "use to be in the good old days"! Beloved, I don't know about you, but I am ready for God to do a NEW THING in my life and in my church and in my Country! Yesterday's miracles were never intended to stand alone in today's memories! They are supposed to become crowded with company from today's miracles! So, from time to time God has to Press us beyond the Memory of yesterday and make us get our feet wet with a miracle today! Leaving Your History To Enter Into Your Destiny: EMBRACING YOUR NEW IDENTITY 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come We all need to Leave Our History To Enter Into Our Destiny and when we do, we become a new creation. As a new creation we need to Embrace our New Identity. In order to fully embrace our new identity, there are three baptisms we need to experience. These three baptisms were concealed in the Old Testament but have been revealed to us in the New Testament. 1 Corinthians 10:1-2 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea 2 and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea 6 Now these things happened as examples for us . . . I. They were all Baptized into MOSES! 1 Corinthians 10:2 and all were baptized into Moses 1 Corinthians 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the age have come! Moses is a prophetic parallel (type or shadow), to Christ as a Deliverer. The Apostle Paul says all were baptized into Moses and this occurred after they had received The Passover Lamb and put the blood of the lamb over the doorpost of their home. Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were ALL baptized into one BODY . . . and were all made to drink of one Spirit Mark 16:15 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved, but he who disbelieved shall be condemned! II. They were all Baptized in the SEA! 1 Corinthians 10:2 and all were baptized . . . in the Sea The Red Sea is a prophetic parallel to the death to the old life in Egypt (bondage), and resurrection to the new life (freedom)! Exodus 14:8 Then the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out BOLDLY, Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened . . . Pharaoh is a prophetic parallel to Satan and the Egyptians are prophetic parallels to demonic spirits, habits, strongholds and fear from your old life that chase you and try and take you hostage and lead you back to Egypt (your old way of life of bondage). However, water baptism is our response to God for a clean conscience-through the resurrection of Christ (1 Peter 3:21). Exodus 14:23 Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the Sea 26 THEN the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the Sea Water Baptism is a demonstration of 1. Our OBEDIENCE to GOD Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; 2. Our IDENTIFICATION with CHRIST Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life 3. Our NOTIFIATION to our SOUL Romans 6:6 KNOWING this, that our old self was crucified with Him, IN ORDER THAT our body of sin might be done away with, SO THAT we would no longer be slaves to sin 4. Our INVITATION to our PAST Romans 6:3 We are buried with Christ in baptism and raised to walk in a new way of life 5. Our PREPARATION for our DESTINY Mark 1:10 . . . Immediately coming up out of the water, Jesus saw the heavens opening 11 and the Spirit, like a dove descending upon Him; and a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased!" III. They were all Baptized in the CLOUD! 1 Corinthians 10:2 and all were baptized into Moses, in the CLOUD and in the sea God introduced His Glory/Shekinah to the Israelites through The CLOUD and The CLOUD is a prophetic parallel or type of Holy Spirit, they were led by the CLOUD by day and FIRE by night! Mt 3:11 As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me . . . He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire 1 John 5:7 there are THREE that testify, the Spirit and the Water and the BLOOD! What do these three things testify about or what do these three things bear witness to? The SPIRIT (Holy Spirit), the Water (Baptism) and the Blood (Salvation)! The TABERNACLE of Moses Exodus 25:8 Let them construct a tabernacle of Me, that I may dwell among them . . . 22 there I will meet with you! The word for Tabernacle means "residence or dwelling place" and it was the portable dwelling place for the Shekinah/Glory or Presence of God. In the Tabernacle there was one entrance into it and there is one way to God. When you entered into the One gate the first thing you saw was a great big ALTAR and this is where the BLOOD of the LAMB (sacrifice) was killed and applied! This is a picture or type of our salvation or when we are baptized into Jesus by the Holy Spirit. If you applied the blood of the Lamb, then you could proceed to the next step in the approach to the Presence of God. The next piece of furniture you saw would be the LAVER and this was for washing with the WATER! If you washed with the water which pictures our water baptism, then you were ready to take the third step toward the Presence of God and that was the FLASK of OIL. This flask of oil is a picture or type of our third baptism which is the baptism with the Holy Spirit!
