INTRODUCTION: Scary places. Knees knocking. Guts church?

Life is Hard,

Habakkuk 3:16 ESV
I hear, and my body trembles; my lips quiver at the sound; rottenness enters into my bones; my legs tremble beneath me. Yet I will quietly wait for the day of trouble to come upon people who invade us.
I hear - Hear what? The sound of the Lord coming.
body - corpse shakes.
rottenness enters into my bones.
Yet,
quietly wait - Not post of facebook! Literally: rest. I will rest knowing that God will bring judgment on smaller.

When life is hard, wait on the Lord.

Habakkuk 3:17 ESV
Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls,
fig tree and Olive Tree - Sometimes means Isreal - Fig’s especially for God’s blessing
Fig - delecy,
grapes - drink, wine
olive - cooking and light,
fields - that was their grain and bread.
flock - clothing and food.
herd in the stall. All food.
It kept getting worse.
Fold - that was the security. They were left out all alone.
2020 - Though the stores run out of toilet paper, etc....

but God is good.

Habakkuk 3:18 ESV
yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
rejoice - exult - give happy praise to Yahweh
take joy - I will rejoice myself,
Giving praise to the Lord is the best way to pbe blessed.
This was just toughing it out. It was actually being happy in it. But how?
of my salvation. - We think of it as getting to heaven, which is approipate. But this word also means delieverance, my savior.

When life is hard, rejoice in the Lord.

Habakkuk 3:19 ESV
God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments.
God, the Lord, Yawhew, adoni - Soverign Lord, showed his power.
my strength -
feet like deer - not actually! Run from danger to Him??
me tread on high places - walking on air!
