A Terrifying Vision Daniel 1:1-9

This is the final vision that Daniel records…it will spill over into the final chapters of the book.

During a time when Israel traditionally celebrated their deliverance from Egypt, Daniel is mourning. Why?

Cyrus had given permission for Jews to return to Jerusalem and to rebuild.

The rebuilding had halted.

Israel is dealing powerful enemies in the physical & spiritual.

The vision began as Daniel & friends experienced a sense of overwhelming fear.

Daniel’s experience is similar to John’s in Revelation…the awesomeness and holiness of God nearly consumes his human flesh.

The Intersection of Heaven & Earth Daniel 10:10-14

An angel comes to deliver an answer to Daniel’s prayers.

The angel affirmed the effectiveness of Daniel’s prayers.

The angel acknowledged a spiritual war in the heavenlies that coincide with earthly events.

The Lord Strengthens Daniel 10:15-21

He strengthened his lips to speak in God’s presence.

He strengthened his body to remain in God’s presence.

He strengthened his heart for the battle ahead.
