When our hearts are controlled by the things around us – job, money, self-interests, politics, etc. – we will always be chasing peace. We are restless because there is no satisfaction to be found and we will not have lives of true thankfulness. Paul discovered one of the keys to being thankful: contentment. When he talks about contentment in Philippians 4, it is because he put some key principles into practice that he discussed earlier in chapter 3. Nothing is better than Jesus... NOTHING!
