the reason we give up our rights is to save others
unselfish for the sake of other people
v. 22 give up his preferences for others
When you destroy your brother by standing on your rights, you are destroying Christ.
v. 25-27 just like an athlete I have to give up some things tgo win others and so that I myself am not disqulaified
CHapter 10
comparing the Israelites as those coming out of idolatry

Then they set out from Mount Hor by the way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the people became impatient because of the journey.
The people spoke against God and Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food.”
The Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.

The people spent all day and all night and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers) and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp.
While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very severe plague.
So the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had been greedy.
From Kibroth-hattaavah the people set out for Hazeroth, and they remained at Hazeroth.
we want this food so bad and it leads us to grumble lust and sex, and idolatry
v. 12 you think you can go down there and not stumble and you think you can flirt with sin and not fdall
v. 13 they should have never gone to dinner. Don’t put yourself in that position. You are flirting with temptaion and not fleeing
v. 14 flee - run as far away from it as you can
v. 14 best way to not fall into fornication or idoatry is to flee never put yourself in a an opprtunity to stumble
v. 15 talking about the meal we have together v. 21 pick what you will, you shouldn’t participate in this food with idols
don’t tell me tehr is not spiritual implications to those idolatrous meals.

v. 31 if you can’t do it and God be glorified and people saved then don’t do it. that is the way mature Christians deal with things like these
