Exodus 1. The Period of the Moving (Exodus 19:1)

“In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai”

The Time of their Moving
Exactly three months from the day that the children of Israel left Egypt, they arrived at Mount Sinai. It was fifty days from the time that they had left Egypt. God had them on a time table. He had them moving towards receiving the law.
In football, when the team has to make a tough decision, the coach can call a time-out. In basketball, when the other team starts to heat up, the captain can call a time-out. In baseball, when the other team starts knocking the ball out the park, the manager can request to talk to the pitcher by calling a time-out.
But life doesn’t work that way. There is no way to stop the clock to think about our problems. You can’t save time, stretch time, or store time up somewhere. Many of us abuse time, but the clock keeps on ticking.
Exodus 2. The Path in the Moving (Exodus 19:2)

They were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount” (Exodus 19:2

The Way that God Moved them
It was in Rephidim, that the children of Israel had complained about not having any water. Rephidim was in the wilderness of Sin, but Sinai was in the wilderness of Sinai. After they left Rephidim, God brought them out to the desert in the wilderness and it was there that God had them to camp out at the base of the mountain.
“Israel camped before the mount” Where God brought them to was the best place for them to get instructions about the law.
The area where they were, was just like a natural amphitheater, it had great acoustical effects, it was ideal for the Israelites to gather as a group to hear Moses giving them God’s instructions.
When Moses was called by God at the “burning bush” to be Israel’s deliverer, God promised Moses that “when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God upon this mountain.” “This mountain” that God was referring to was mount Sinai, the mountain of God.
It had to be a very rewarding experience to Moses to have lead the Israelites to this mountain after all the struggles being their leader and the long journey they had made after they came out of Egypt.
I’m sure there were times Moses doubted God’s promises. It all looked impossible. But can I get a witness that God does fulfill his promises. God will make Goooood on what he has said.
Exodus 1. The Pursuit of the Message (Exodus 19:3)

And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain” (Exodus 19:3

After Israel had camped at mount Sinai, Moses went up the mountain to seek God for the message. Notice, Moses went up seeking God, but then God rewarded Moses by calling Moses to him.
That’s what God does with each one of us.
When we seek the Lord, we will never be disappointed, for God will speak to us. If you study the Word of God, you will never be disappointed, because God will speak to you.
Of course, we have to be like Moses, in that, He have to put forth some effort in seeking God. Seeking God required Moses to do some meticulous mountain climbing. Seeking God requires us to do some uncompromising stuff, it requires us to do some hard stuff, but when we seek him, he will speak to us.
Exodus 2. The People for the Message (Exodus 19:4)

Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel” (Exodus 19:4)

God began to speak to Moses. The message God gave him was intended for the Israelites. But if there are any Preachers on the Conference Line and ZOOM, hear this this evening, When God gives a preacher a message, he means for you to deliver it. God doesn’t give messages for you to sit on them.
People may not necessarily be excited about what God wants you to say, but preach it anyway. As it was with Moses here, God will tell you who to preach it to. Not only will he include the WORD that you need to preach, but he will include the WORLD for your message.
Exodus 3. The Particulars of the Message (Exodus 19:4–6)

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself” (Exodus 19:4).

God began by reminding his people what he had done for them: “You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought to to myself”. The three separate stages in Israels’s journey sum up salvation.
God brought them out
He lifted them up.
He drew them close to him
First, He brought them out. In Egypt, God disgraced Pharaoh’s gods one by one. He attacked them with ten plagues. Then he drowned Pharaoh’s army in the Red Sea.
In this way, he brought them out of slavery.
GOD BROUGHT US OUT
Secondly, he lifted his people up “on eagle’s wings.” A mother eagle cares for her young. Eaglets or baby eagles are helpless. They stay in the nest for over 100 days. Then, when it’s time for the young birds to leave the nest and learn how to fly, the eagle stirs up the nest, but he/she does not leave the young birds.
If they experience problems, the mother bird swoops down below them and lifts them on its wings back to safety.
This is what God did for his people in the wilderness. They had been delivered from slavery, but they were weak when it came to acquiring food and water. They were weak when it came to being attacked by their enemies.
So God lifted them up on this mighty wings, provided them with food, gave them water, and defeated their enemies.
GOD LIFTED US UP
After the the Devil, and the world had beat us up so bad, We couldn’t pull ourselves up. We couldn’t put ourselves back together again. God had to step in and lift us up. He pick me up, turn me around and placed my feet on a solid ground.
Exodus—Saved for God's Glory On the Wings of Eagles

The last thing God did for his people was to bring them to himself. He led them to his holy mountain, where they would worship him in all his majesty. The exodus was not just about getting Israel out of Egypt; it was about getting Israel close to God

GOD BRINGS US CLOSER TO HIM
Blessings come from God
Exodus 19:5 "If ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people for all the earth is mind" (Exodus 19:5).
This passage of scripture is for the children of Israel, but it's also for us. It shows all of us how to be blessed by God. And I don't know about you, but I want to be blessed and highly favored by God for the remainder of my time on this earth, and through eternity. FIRST—If you want to be blessed, there are some requirements
"If ye obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant."
The requirement for being blessed is in three parts.
• Being Submissive is the first requirement
"Obey my voice." There are a whole lot of voices in the world today. There are voices on the radio, television, internet, our workplaces, church, and home.
Sometimes we hear so much talking during the day, that’s it hard to sort out right and wrong. What God was saying to the Israelites is listen to me . There are many voices that we hear everyday, but the only voice we that we should obey is the voice of God.
When we hear the voice of God, we ought to obey. James said that we are to be more than hearers, but be doers of the Word.
It’s hard to get a blessing if you just hear it and don’t do it.
• Being Excited is a requirement
"Indeed."
This is how God said it to Moses. Obey my voice, indeed. Obey my voice, absolutely. Obey my voice undoubtedly. It’s like us telling somebody to do something and we know that it’s important so we say I’m for Real
Obedience to the voice of God is to be done with enthusiasm. Too often we obey because we have to, or we obey without spirit. Obedience must be enthusiastic if we want God to increase our territory
• Being sincere is a requirement.
"Keep my covenant."
Israel had made an agreement with God. God said to them, keep my covenant or keep the agreement that we made. Don’t be nonchalant about it. Don’ be casual about what we have agreed upon. But be sincere.
There are many folks these days who are so lackadaisical when it comes to keeping God’s Word.
We keep portions of the Word that we think that we have strength to do. But God wants us to keep it all. At least try to keep it all.
All of us slip from time to time. But what God wants us to do when we slip is to get back up again and go even harder to keep his Word.
He told Moses, tell them to “keep my covenant”
SECOND—THE RESULTS IN BLESSINGS
"Ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people"
The blessings were great.
The preciousness in the blessing. "Peculiar treasure" The word translated "peculiar treasure" does not mean odd or strange but something that is precious, of great value. Obedience to God will make you of great value with God. You may feel you are of little value in the world but if you obey the Lord you will be of great value to Him.
The position in the blessing.
Above all people."
This is the best position in the world to be in. This doesn’t mean that we are better or we think that we are better than anybody else. No. that’s not what this is saying. The world does not recognize this position but God does and that is what matters. Don’t be concerned about earthly position, but be concerned about heavenly position. Heavenly position is eternal, but the highest earthly position is temporary at best. There are some plain ole folk in church, who in their humble way obey the Lord, have a higher position than the high dignitaries in this world.
God says when you obey me, I’ll bless you above all people.
THIRD—THE RESOURCES FOR BLESSING "For all the earth in mine." When someone promises to bless us greatly, as this text has done, we want to know if that person can indeed bless as they promised. Do they have the resources to benefit us? God certainly does, for He owns the entire world. Man thinks he owns the world but he is only a steward of the world at best, God is the real owner. Therefore, God has the resources to bless as no man could every bless. Some have said that wealth is power. No one has more wealth than God. If He promises to bless, He will and He can, for He has the resources to bless as no one else does.
