Wednesday Devotion 11/11/2020 5 Minutes

Good evening everyone watching by video this evening,,, it's time for our weekly devotion.
And the scripture will come from my devotion book titled "Morning and Evening" by Dr David Jeremiah.
The scripture for this evening is Job 19:26
I'll be reading from the Holman Christian Standard Bible.
Job 19:26 (HCSB)
26 Even after my skin has been destroyed,
yet I will see God in my flesh.
God bless the reading and the hearing of your word this evening.
Let us pray:
Dear Lord,,, as we begin this evening,,, with all that are listening and watching by video,,, we ask that you open our ears to hear and our hearts and minds to receive the message that you have for us today,,, In Jesus' name I pray,,, Amen.
---------------
David Jeremiah says in his devotion,,, that the story of a famous man reads like this: chapter 1, he’s wealthy and prosperous; chapter 2, he loses everything (even his children and his health); chapter 42, he is more prosperous than in chapter 1.
Wouldn’t you like to know what happened from chapters 3 through 41?
If so,,, you should read the story of Job,,, that prosperous patriarch of the Old Testament who had it all,,, lost it all,,, and,,, got it all back in the end— his wealth was actually doubled by the end of the book of Job.
You’ll be blessed by reading his story in Scripture; but here’s the word that summarizes Job’s return to prosperity: determination.
When Job lost everything,,, everyone around him tried to convince him to give up on God,,, and give up on himself.
But Job had a determined faith—he knew God was just and fair.
He wasn’t about to give up on God,,, or throw in the towel on his own faith,,, just because he was stuck in a place he didn’t understand.
And,,, this is where we can come up short so many times today.
We want everything to happen,,, just the way that we want it to happen.
There are days when we go about our daily life and everything is great without a problem any where in our life and we are so happy.
Do we give God the thanks and credit for those days like we should?
I can only speak for myself,,, and even though this is something that I'm getting much better at,,, and,,, the answer is no!
I'm guessing that your answer may be the same if you are honest.
But let disaster strike and God is never far from our minds.
But instead of faith that God is going to fix the problem,,, we just can't believe that these things are happening to us!
Even as much as we know today,,, we still want to believe that if we are Christians,,, nothing bad will happen to us!
We must try to understand that our relationship with God is vital to getting through the things that will happen to us,,, not to keep us out of them!
When sin entered this world in the Garden of Eden,,, everything was changed from the way that God made it,,, and we pay the price for that even today.
That's why our relationship with God is so important,,, that's why Job was able to get through his problems,,, and that relationship is available to you also.
In the end,,, if you will go back and read these chapters,,, God met with Job,,, explained as much as he needed to know,,, and restored his health,,, family,,, and fortune.
David Jeremiah said,,, if you’re stuck in a place you don’t understand right now,,, don’t give up,,,—on God,,, or yourself.
Faith that throws in the towel today,,, won’t have one to wave,,, in victory tomorrow.
