The New International Version Chapter 8

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, n God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. p And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

So we are free? Yes! Set free!

Everyone? No

IN Christ Jesus how?

1 Corinthians 1:30 NIV

30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Romans 6:3–5 NIV

3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

Galatians 2:20 NIV

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Ephesians 2:8 NIV

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

Piper says this truth and this is something you should take note of

In God we are

given faith

power of the spirit

unity with Christ

no condemnsation

These things are all expressed in Baptism

So now we see who has no condemnation, but now the question is how is that we have no condemnation.

If I had just be set free from a life sentence of which I was guilty, I would immediately want to know how?

There are two conflicting laws that both have power. To say that the power of the law of sin and death has no power would be ridculous, but it has been decided that you will be set free from that Law by the law of the spirit who gives life.

Matthew 28:18 NIV

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

So why do we doubt this. You and I have been set free and it has been set free from the one whom has all authority

So who has no condemnation?

How is there no condemnation?

4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Who can keep the reuirement?

Galatians 5:16 NIV
