Sons of God

Romans 8:14-19

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Lexham Context Commentary: New Testament Sonship through the Spirit (8:12–17)

8:14 They will live because those who are led by the Spirit of God are children (literally “sons”) of God. Paul uses the word “sons” because of its connection with adoption and inheritance.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

For we have not received the spirit of bondage/fear
To receive: means to take hold of, grasp, obtain possession of something
Bondage: Anything that has fastens or restrains; subjection or slavery.
Adoption: placed in a position and rights as one’s own child, sonship

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Lexham Context Commentary: New Testament Sonship through the Spirit (8:12–17)

8:15 Verse 15 makes the connection between the Spirit and adoption: believers have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear (of God); they have received a Spirit of adoption (literally “sonship”), by whom they cry, “Abba, Father!”

8:16 The Holy Spirit testifies with the believer’s spirit that the believer is a child of God.

8:17 As children of God, believers are also heirs—on the one hand, heirs of God, and on the other hand, coheirs with Christ—as long as they maintain their solidarity with Christ through present suffering to future glory.

Lexham Context Commentary: New Testament From Suffering to Glory (8:18–30)

From Suffering to Glory (8:18–30)

Paul expands on his thought from 8:17. Both human beings and creation itself groan in their present sufferings as they wait and hope for the final redemption. The Holy Spirit, who will bring about that redemption (8:11), sustains believers in the meantime and carries out God’s plan to bring them to glory.

Every struggle ends today
Creation is waiting for the problem solvers
Level one problems can not be solved by level one answer
But they are waiting for us we are the problem solvers
The Bible say they that know there God shall be strong and do exp
Sons dose mean male child here but it means mature offspring
Now Jesus came into the earth to reconnect mankind to the kingdom of God and to reintroduce the earth to God
To bring back mankind to his or her original state
And the only fix right now for the world is the church
So the problem is the church has not gone pass salvation
So when we say being born again 1 cor 2:14
The nature person can move beyond the realm of mature
1 Cor 2:14-16

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual ljudgeth all things, yet he himself is ljudged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

God wants us to grow as a result from getting the word of God
1 Peter 2:2

2 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3

Matthew 4:4

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The head
Jesus is the head of the body and so the head has to wait on the church to mature so that he can come back and be joined with the body so that we can be joined with the Lord
The unsaved man then the carnal man who gave there life to God but is carnal
2 Corinthians 4:16 LEB
Therefore we do not lose heart, but even if our outer person is being destroyed, yet our inner person is being renewed day after day.
1 Peter 3:4

4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price

Notice 2 people here in 1 peter he call it the hidden man in the heart and that is the person that communication with God
Now this is the level we must live on so that we can have what belongs to us from God
Once you are born again there is an inheritance that is for you but it will not be your until you reach a level of maturity
Prov 24:5,10

5 The warrior of wisdom is in strength,

and a man of knowledge is strong in power.

10 If you faint on the day of adversity,

little is your strength.

Now god is going to lead us into situations where the natural man can’t get the glory
He going to lead into

Heb 10:3

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever;

And thy remembrance unto all generations.

13  Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion:

For the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

Exodus 3:19

19 But I myself know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go ⌊unless compelled by a strong hand⌋. 20 And I will stretch out my hand, and I will strike Egypt with all of my wonders that I will do in its midst, and ⌊afterward⌋ he will release you. 21 And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, ⌊and then⌋ when you go, you will not go empty-handed.

Romans 12: 18-19

18 If it is possible on your part, be at peace with all people. 19 Do not take revenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
