We’re all leaders
God has given us all a network of unchurched folks
friends
family
employers
employees
co-workers
God has placed u in these networks to lead them to decisions for Christ
to shine a light
BODY
I. The Community grows deep by growing the freshly minted disciple

A. (what’s) A Disciple: a learner & follower of Jesus & his ways
a. discipleship is a partnership with Jesus
1. It’s Jesus teaching them in personal study w/the H.S.
i. Well, how do they learn to study w/the H.S. ? — that brings me 2 the next point:
b. Discipleship is a partnership with other Jesus Followers
1. Show ‘em how to study
i. teach ‘em how to study the scriptures so they can learn to fellowship w/Jesus themselves
- but wait theirs more!
2. Share Life together
i. What Person in ur life has been the greatest ex. 2 u o a Christian life?
- Illust. : the most influential Jesus follower after baptism was P. Trey
* P. Trey Baptized me
* He met w/me regularly & helped me stay accountable
* P. Tray Helped me plug in2 ministry
* He encouraged me to read my bible & I could ask him questions
* & he introduced me 2 a small group where I could continue to grow
- What about u…who’s that person in ur life (past/present)?
*Did u know that they were discipling u?
ii. When a spirit filled Jesus Follower takes u under their wing & shares life w/u…they r discipling u the way Jesus discipled
iii. & Jesus is discipling u through that Jesus Follower by his H.S.
2. Show ‘em what a Jesus following parent, spouse, boss, co-worker, friend, neighbor looks like by living life 2gether
i. Meet w/’em regularly to study, ask questions, & share life-Do this not only in a 1-on-1, but w/others in the community
3. Invite them to church
i. Invite ‘em & Don’t take no for an answer (pick ‘em up the 1st couple weeks)
4. Teach them to share the Gospel & make disciples by showing them
II. The result of deep growth is maturity
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
A. The Leadership exists to equip the saints to
a. grow wide (work of the ministry)
This is touching the poor & reaching the lost
b. Grow deep (building up the body)
This is building the community & training leaders
i. What’s a mature Christian look like?
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
B. A mature Christian is united in faith
C. A mature Christian is united in knowledge of Jesus
D. A mature Christian is accurately represents Jesus
E. A mature Christian is grounded in a biblical world view
