Making an Impact
Making an Impact
Has been quite a hectic couple weeks
Reminded that the flux of change is ever present
We believe God is working this for our good and His glory
But it is easy to get caught in the noise and chaos
It easy to forget what it is all about
"To know the Word of God, to live the Word of God, to preach the Word, to teach the Word, is the sum of all wisdom, the heart of all Christian service."
—Charles E. Fuller
Take a moment and refocus us
Acts 18
Invest in Eternity
Story of Acts 18 -
Paul in Corinth - Priscilla and Aquila
As he invested - trouble came - darkness does not always give p so easily - cause feeling of futility
The Lord said to Paul in a night vision, “Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent. For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city.”
Faithfulness brought an outcome
Families restored -
Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, along with his whole household. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.
Leaders raised up -
Now a Jew named Apollos, a native Alexandrian, an eloquent man who was competent in the use of the Scriptures, arrived in Ephesus.
The mission continued
After spending some time there, he set out, traveling through one place after another in the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.
How do we invest in Eternity?
Invest in you
Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.
Your faith your responsibility
American Christianity only thing that after years of practice its OK not to be proficient.
Invest in your family
Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Lead your family
Show up, Speak up, Stand out
Invest in God’s Family

_ Believed mentoring will be the life blood of the church -
What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
The command is to make disciples not converts
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Making an Impact
Making an Impact
We have so much to do
It is a call for us to come together in unity
TO lift each other up not tear down
To help and not hinder
TO put aside our preferences and pride and out others first
To BE the church
A prayer for all of us in time of questions and doubts
"Awake! thou that sleepest, arise from the dead! The Lord still lives today. His power has never abated. His Word has never changed. The things He did in Bible days, He still lives to do today. Not a burden is there He cannot bear nor a fetter He cannot break."
—Sermon excerpt by Aimee Semple McPherson
