Judging; Grace; Training; Forgiveness / Matthew 7:1–2; Romans 6:23; Matthew 11:28–29
Teaching our children what it means "not to judge others", the measure of grace, and being an example.
Train up a Child
Friday night, we got home late after Elijah’s football game.
Josiah expressed some frustration with someone at school.
MENTOR MOMENT!!!
------------------Every situation is an opportunity to point back to God and the Bible. We either take those opportunities or we let them slip by.
We talked about how some people are able to let problems pass right through them.
They experience good, bad, and ugly, and it can let it go almost as fast as it comes. (Some faster than others)
There are others, who have a hard time letting go of the bad, and the ugly.
These are justice-motivated people who see things that are wrong and stand against them.
They are like this cup, they fill up until they are weighed down and heavy.
People who are like this should know God made them this way, and they need to learn how to release them to God.
Do Not Judge
Matthew 7:1–2 CSB
1 “Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged.
2 For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.
Same Measure
Righteousness and Holiness are still a Mandate
Found in Jesus
Matthew 11:28–29 CSB
28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Romans 6:23 CSB
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Live By Example
These are things that we, as Christians must do IN REAL LIFE. Not just hold as a belief.
Our children are watching, the neighbors are watching, the world is watching.
