(NKJV) 1 Thessalonians 5 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1. This is what God desires for you

2. In fact the lack of thankfulness is one of the signs of the evil times of the last days

((NKJV) 2 Timothy 3 1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

3. A sign of selfishness and godliness

3. The spirit of thankfulness to Him demonstrates the reality of our life in Him

4.

II. The forgotten element: Thanksgiving - For the Lord

1. He is a great God

2. Character of God – worthy to be praised and thanked

3. The greatness of God – Who is like our God?

B. Because of what He does

(NKJV) Psalms 106 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can declare all His praise?
(NKJV) Psalms 98 1… For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. 2 The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
(NKJV) Revelation 5 9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” 11 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; …
