November 22, 2020 - The Harvest is Plentiful in the Ends of the earth

Select the day in the bulletin, then you can do hearts in a men's like I'm doing right now like just you know, I'm not soaked in the fire, but I'm stoking the fire get your hearts in the immense ready to go. This is the final. What is a final message in the fort but I got a final message in the four-part message? Cuz honestly, I've already developed a course that's going to go out of this that is much longer and longer and much more than that. At least for a sermons. We've been able to get through three that we've been able to get through in the fourth one today and we've been talking about what Jesus said to his disciples at the last words. He spoke to them that you'll be my Olive Holy Spirit Will Empower you and you'll be my Witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea Samaria and the ends of the Earth. And so far we've looked at yerusalem, Judea and Samaria. Remember Jerusalem is where we're home. You know, it is our family and friends are like family. We love these people. They love us bad news is Jerusalem's a place we can dye. It is very very difficult. The only way we can reach these family and friends who are family is with transformation in our lives. It's authentic Revelation through transformation. We need to become more and more like Jesus because that's the only Jesus they are they're going to see and that change that transformation is the only thing that silence is the arguments that they come up with.

Matthew 10:21, Jesus says brother will betray brother to death father will betray his own child children rebelled against their parents and cause them to be killed. I mean Jerusalem is a tough place.

Holy spirit's help. We can reach even the toughest ones. We got to believe it. We got to let Holy Spirit transform us. Next we looked at Judy and Judy is where we're at where we are comfortable. We like these people and they like us.

They're not going to kill us probably like our family will but some will judge us and hit us and persecute us and call us names. That's the promise of Jesus. So we need to understand and find the people of Peace because the people of Peace in those areas are the ones who want to work with us who want to help us and we let them help us and they open up the doors to the places. We can't go otherwise It's not easy, but it's counterintuitive reciprocity. You let them serve you you don't, you know, you let them help you serve others and that is how we reach those people we like. Samaria is the place where were not the most comfortable. And we have to understand Holy Spirit Jesus let his disciples there. Holy spirit will lead us there those places and those people that were not most comfortable with. The good news with that is when we go. We get to reap where we having sown and there is huge joy in that. If you have never let anyone to the Lord that you just met and had no influence on their life up to that point. Look for that. Okay, take those risks. Do those things when the Holy Spirit prompts you to do that because boy there is there is no Greater Joy in life. The only thing that comes close is when your family or people you've been praying for for a long time you come become. Love Jesus start loving Jesus. That's incredible, but it's a different kind of excitement. It's kind of like a relief. When it's a complete strangers and you're not comfortable around them and man it was just pure adrenaline. You know what I'm talking about, right? You want it this is what this is what we were created for.

Do we get to the ends of the Earth that I need to start with a story? And this story this happened.

over 25 years ago at least I was my Uncle Gordon was my pastor mentor. He took me to his last International Convention. He was the head of the Canadian Division and he was stepping down. He was retiring who's retiring from the church. I was going to his already like decided I would be the next pastor. This is weeks away from me becoming the pastor. I went to this International Convention would Gordon And he did it. Basically he wanted me there to introduce me to people it was kind of like a pastor's coming out party. It was fun. It just so happened that at that convention for couples from my congregation or from our congregation. We're honored for Lifetime missions work and I they were highlighted every I don't know if it was every night or stand your brother was there I think you were actually down there that night that they were honored by so and it was like party central for us, you know, like everyone who knew them and love them. We got to celebrate every event because they were celebrating these people who work 4551 had 55 years of service and it was incredible.

And I was a young. No, nothing Pastor. I knew enough to know I didn't know nothing and these people would come up to Gordon and start talking and then find out who I was and then invite me to come speak in their church and I was like basically conversation was how big is your church and it was they were always bigger than what my charge was going to be. And I said I would I would say something sarcastic like oh my God. I'm afraid for your people. If that's the due diligence you do what you want me to talk to them. Like this is Gordon told me to be more gracious and I realized afterwards they were inviting me on without ever hearing me speak or ever hearing my heart. They were inviting me because the Gordon. Because of me, you know, so I got more Creations, but I would it scared me how open people's puppets were for some young kid who didn't know anything.

Reason why I said there was one.

Guest speaker who spoke to the entire conference and he was an American is conference International Conference was in Canada. He was an American who came to speak. and to this day it the message he gave. Was one of the most ignorant dangerous messages I've ever heard in my life.

honestly afterwards I went to Gordon and I was like if this is the direction this Fellowship is taking I don't want to be like this is dangerously stupid.

and American pastors give up the garden and they said is the direction of the Canadian Fellowship. We can't have fellowship with you. If this is what you believe it was this it was this crazy. Ignorant message and yet. It's a message. We've all heard and we've all been taught to some level. This was just blatant in over the top. This guy started in the Book of Revelations in that verse that says you have made been made a kingdom of priests. He read from Old King James. This only happens in 1611 1611 version says he has made you Kings and Priests. So there are Kings and there are priests and Kings job is to go out and plunder and give to the priest and the priest does the kingdom work. The application was you go home and you make sure your people are the best that they are in any business at their in and let them make all the money so that the church has money so you can do whatever Holy Spirit wants you to do spiritually, whatever you want.

It was ignorant and it was stupid and I can't believe that I remember this message 25 years later, except. I remember every ignorant and stupid message. I personally freeze over that time as well. There's something that the really bad messages. We remember and I don't know why.

you and I problem when we talked about the ends of the Earth is it you and I have been taught or it's been implied or it's been stated as stupidly as it's with stated that sermon we are supposed to Outsource the Great Commission.

We can't do that. That was never Jesus intention. That was never his plan of attack. That was never his goal for any disciple he ever had. So that's what we're going to look at today. Can we bring? Holy Spirit, I thank you for what you're doing in our hearts and lives and Lord right now. Give us ears to hear what you're saying to us Lord. Let us hear what you want to do and know that you're going to enable us to do every good work prompted by our faith. And we thank you for that in your name. Amen.

Let your Let There Be thankfulness to God, you can be sure that no immoral and pure or greedy person will inherit the kingdom of Christ and of God for a greedy person is an idolater worshipping the things of this world. Don't be fooled by those who have have tried to excuse the sins for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Don't participate in things that these people do for once you were full of Darkness. But now you have light the light of the Lord From The Lord so live as people of the light for this Light Within You produces only what is good and right and true. Carefully determine what pleases the Lord take no part in the worthless Deeds of evil Darkness. It is shameful even to talk about these things with the ungodly people within godly people doing Secret but their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them for the light makes everything visible. This is why it says awake o sleeper and rise from the dead in Christ will give you the light his will give you light. So be careful how you live don't live like fools but like those who are wise make the most of every opportunity in these evil days don't act spotlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don't be drunk with wine because that will ruin your life instead be filled with Holy Spirit singing songs and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves and making music in your hearts for the Lord and give thanks for everything to God the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. and

that just about sums up what I'm going to tell you today. So I told you what I'm going to tell you. I will tell you and then I'll tell tell you to tell you what I told you and that'll be the sermon. That's one of the things Gordon taught me how to preach anyway.

I think if we think about it, we will all admit that. We've been taught to Outsource. Going to the ends of the Earth.

We all have a Jerusalem. We all have that family and friends are like family. Okay, we need to witness to them. We all have a Judy at those places that were comfortable those people we love and they love us and yeah, okay, we should reach them early spring for them.

We all can even connect with Samaria because samaire is a place were not the most comfortable and we all have those places in our lives those people that we we come in contact with and we can get that. Okay. God wants me to go there. I will obey and I'll do what I can only talk about the ends of the Earth.

That'll be missionaries for you. But is that

Every time we talk about the Great Commission we talk about missions. Maybe I've missed said that maybe every time we talk about the missions we talk about the Great Commission and we're imply that it's only for missionaries.

What's the Great Commission Matthew 28 we start a 16 it's I like it. It says been the 11 disciples left for the Galilee going to the mountains where Jesus told them to go and when they saw him they worshipped but some of them doted I just like that line 18 the Jesus came to and told his disciples. I've given been given Authority in heaven and on Earth therefore go and make disciples of all Nations baptizing them in the name of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit teach them these new disciples to obey all the commands. I've given you and I will be sure of this I am with you even to the ends of the age.

You know, we live in a world where the government has set a price on carbon. And companies are allowed to get they have carbon credits or a carbon credit is the amount of carbon they're able to produce. If they're able to bring down their carbon footprint, they have extra carbon credits. So those carbon credits are put into this. What do they call a compliance Market where you can trade carbon credits with other companies. So if they're not able to get their numbers down, they can buy your credits and and Money Changes hands this way.

I was talking with a friend and we kind of thought what if we could come up with a commission credit. You know. We can set a price on things that make a good disciples and then focus on the things were really good at and and not worry about the rest like that. Let me give me an example. Let's say you got nobody in your everyday world that you need to witness to their all Christian. So if but if you could pray a little bit longer and a little bit harder you get credit so you don't have to if it'll offset the fact that you're not actually making a disciple, you know, you could pay people like a pastor or a missionary to go and actually do the work and you could just be comfortable at where you're at.

That's a little bit too close to home, right? We actually do that. We don't have a market set up and if we could boil we could really fun world missions because hey. Let me write a check. I just want to be out of it.

We could be free and contributing member to the kingdom without ever having to go into all the world.

Listen, I'm not knocking missions or missionaries. They are called to do a specific work and they are worthy of honor and support. we saw it unique Christmas present from samministries and and I could talk for hours about I was I've been part of samministries I could talk for hours about the work that they've done in the past and work that they're doing a but I had this conversation with the white I see especially the Dwayne and Lynn they are there apostles.

You see an apostle was with Jesus called his first disciples. And an apostle was a Roman word. It was not a word from Jewish tradition. He took a Roman work an apostille Los was a Roman general that was sent into an area to romanize it to make it more like Rome. And so when Jesus called his disciples and he named them Apostles. He was telling them go change the culture of this place.

And it takes a lifetime of working and loving and sacrifice and that's what weight and Lynn have done and out of the Bush. They have created a different Kingdom in there.

Dwight's not comfortable with that title. He doesn't like it. He doesn't like what they've done like anyone can be an apostle in Africa. You just call yourself an apostle if that's not what I'm possible is to change the culture. It's someone who is sent to change the culture.

We need to support the work of changing culture. We need to do that that is unsafe. Uncategorically. We need to do that that does not excuse us. It doesn't let us Outsource the Great Commission.

It doesn't mean my job is to go and and bring in the plunder so that I can support World missions.

We can't all be missionaries. In fact not all of us can go on even short-term missions, but we can all week doesn't mean we lose the metaphor.

What what do I meet like? Okay Jerusalem is our family and friends. We all have family and friends Judea and friends were like family some Judy are the people were comfortable with it. And so we all have that Samaria the people we're not comfortable with we got that sew the ends of the Earth. What a butter if the ends of the Earth, let's just redefine it for herself. The ends of the Earth. Is anybody anywhere anywhere how? Anybody anywhere anyway? Anybody anybody Holy Spirit wants us to witness to we're going to look for people of peace and we're going to witness to them anywhere anywhere. They may happen to be as long as it there as we go in the day-to-day of everyday we are not conformed. We are transformed and they can see that in us. Anyway, Holy Spirit wants us to use we have eyes to see ears to hear enhanced Indo bake what Holy Spirit wants us to do. AIA Jesus gave us that pattern Did you notice when he was in Sumerian talking to the woman at the well used authentic Revelation use counterintuitive reciprocity and he taught Kingdom perception yet. What is God doing open up your eyes and look to the Harvest.

These are the tools that that's all the tools of the disciples had we can sum up everything else uses pot under those titles.

And then he just sent them out. The empowered them with Holy Spirit then sent them out.

And it was in the day-to-day of their everyday. Did they went out into all the world?

He was following Holy Spirit. And that's what happened. As we go we proclaim the kingdom we reveal the kingdom and we obey the king proclaim the king then we tell people that Jesus is King reveal the kingdom. Obey the king we have eyes to see ears to hear and hands to do at Holy Spirit wants us to do and as we go we spread the good news.

Jesus is playing with his disciples was not to bring his disciples to make disciples and Empower them to reach Jerusalem and Empower them to reach Judea and Empower them to reach the Mariah and then have them outsourced going to the ends of the Earth. They didn't make that assumption and you and I can't make that assumption.

We can't Outsource the Great Commission. Look at what they did. None of them stayed in the only one that stayed in Jerusalem was James who was killed before he could go out everyone else would all over the place. Let's let's look like I found a map. Every story happens because of movement. You got to be doing something to get holy the Holy Spirit can do for you. You got to be you can't be sitting on your you can't be not doing anything and expect God to show up. You do what he's leading what he's leading you to do and signs and wonders follow. in fact Paul So much insisted it was signs and wonders that was the core of his ministry. He says to the Romans and Romans 15 18 and 19. He says where I would not dare say anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to make the Gentiles obedient to the word and deed by the power of miraculous signs and wonders and by the power of God's spirit and as a result, I have to proclaim the good news about the Messiah from Jerusalem all the way to alyrica. Listen. Paul says, it's with signs and wonders that the gospel is good news is Proclaim.

And you and I have been taught to do everything except. Have the signs and wonders get outside the walls of the church.

Listen, listen, listen. History calls this time of the Apostles the apostolic age.

A lot of them have been killed before 70 AD when Jerusalem fell but they had to get out of Jerusalem because it was going to fall. Jesus told them. When is Jerusalem surrounded fully? And so they did. And they followed What Holy Spirit one of them to do. Look at Philip.

In fact right now today. We don't have to Source the ends of the Earth. Two very important reasons number one. Those of you were here in person and you live in Edmonton. That means the world is coming to you.

It means you don't have to go all around the world to go on a missions trip.

And then there's the word and Matthew 28:19 the All Nations. It's actually ethnosh and it's it's the word that we use for ethnic group. The app Nas is is the tribe that we have. If not all around us. God wants you to go to find that your people of peace and let them serve you don't be conformed to be transformed the key. I was going to give The chi I would give for this if it was not covet. It's the key is hospitality.

You let people serve you buy by inviting them into your home or going into their home. And when they come into your home, you learn to cook with the enjoy not what you know how to cook you don't invite someone whose religion doesn't allow them to have Beats over for stage. Right? Like you learn what they're going to eat and you'll learn how to prepare it and you take the time and you honor them and as you honor them, it's just getting to know them. It's just blessing them.

Cuz I'll tell you. I Married an immigrant and I became an immigrant for sometime so I I know like it's it's you you want to learn the culture you want to know the people. You'll take your eye when I was in New Zealand. I was an immigrant in New Zealand. They actually called me in the aliens or sometimes I could say that I was named an alien is a world government because they don't call you an immigrant. They call you an alien in New Zealand and I learned a New Zealand was if I got together with a bunch of kiwi guys Lux, I couldn't understand a word they said because they swallow their bowels and they talk about sports. I don't know anything about and I didn't understand any word of any conversation know if I could get one American in there. I had a chance of having a conversation, but if it was just New Zealand guys, I would have a clue. It was just it was crazy. But what was the point of that nothing but the point is if they're coming to you attention?

Learn how to get biblical Hospitality. What's biblical Hospitality Jesus taught us when you have a feast don't invite your family and friends invite the people who can't pay you back in like the feet The Stranger In the Lonely light them in.

That's awesome. That's the solution. I don't know how you do that during this time. All I know is you got to hear what Holy Spirit tells you to do and Obey what he tells you to do and even and cool that we can reach out to people who got it bringing to us here. Okay, you don't Outsource it. You don't put it off until we can see each other without masks on you figure out a way to do it and you will be what holy spirit is telling you to do. We don't need outsourced the Great Commission one because all the ethnic groups are coming to us. Number two. If you're online in any way shape or form you can connect with people all over the world like that.

And I'm there was a time where every day I have more people from Europe more people from Africa more people from the Middle East more people from the australasia and more people from China and Japan then I would ever then I ever spoke to you in one time. Define the things that I'm talking about Jesus there in and it's it anyway if you're online. It's the same principle you open up your eyes to see what God is doing don't shut off your your compassion. Are you fine people of Peace? You let them serve you you don't conform but you're being transformed. So my thoughts went to what I've learned to be about being online and and you know, I can talk about what to do when you have negative comments on your blog, but I don't know if any of you have a block so I don't know if it'd be relevant. I could tell you how to bring the supernatural to Twitter, but I don't know how many of you are on Twitter anymore, but that you know When when Twitter was a conversation and not a shooting match, I loved it and I was on there and I pray for people on Twitter. And and we had I had a person in a financial crisis. I prayed and they found a check that they thought they already cashed and they covered everything that they needed for that day and boy they were excited. I prayed for someone of their daughter had a fever and they're going to rush her to the hospital and can you pray and I sent out a tweet and the fever broke and if you need to go to the doctor, it was just somebody was Pray for difficult relationship and he decided to forgive and healing game and this is all on Twitter like it's awesome what you can do online when you pay attention to what God wants you to do. You know, I could share about the language its social media platform has and how to have the Rhythm to connect with that language. But none of you are gurus and none of you care that has come to me and ask that stuff because they don't know how to do it. What you need to know is that Jesus taught and showed his disciples and expected his disciples to go and as they go proclaim the kingdom reveal the kingdom and obey the king.

There's no separation between sacred and secular. It's not that you go have a holiday away from God when you can go travel somewhere if your is representative, wherever you are you bring Jesus with you, wherever you go, it does not matter that that you I mean you can't Hey one way when you're in church and behave another way when you drive home from church or drive to church. Okay, don't be that person. You are his representative. You bring the king with you wherever you go. You don't need rules to whip yourself with when you don't do it right on social media. We've all done the wrong thing on social media, but we need to remember that we are his representative and what we say matters on there and how we respond matters how we show love matters. It matters.

What do you want us to do this week? Who do you want us to contact? How do you want us to love God? Thank you. God you're a-goin to enable us to do to accomplish every good work prompted by Our Fate, but Lord help us to have the faith to see you at work and Lord, let us not turn off compassion, but Lord, let it be led by it. God I pray for those that we've been praying for family and friends who seem far off Lord. Holy spirit is for them and for their children and for their children for their children, or I pray for the ones were praying for their family and friend that it would be there just in her Spear of influence and they're our neighbors and there are our co-workers Lord. They have fear in their hearts right now. It's big piece to the storm and made the Lord knows the Prince of Peace in their lives. We pray for the ones that we haven't had those conversations yet, but we know they're coming cuz they're uncomfortable. But Lord, you're leading us their Lord prepare their hearts. Do they even went Lord, even if you're uncomfortable now as we start the speed we will feel Holy Spirit Come into that place and answer those questions or answer that that give that answer that we are looking for and bring them to you Lord. God and Lord as we go in the day that they have every day. I pray Lord got that we would have eyes to see ears to hear and hands to do. The reach Every Nation Lord, God every person anybody everywhere. Any how you would want us to do Lord God. This is not about it already. That's where we're at. It is about you and your glory got me you'd be glorified Lord God in the hearts and lives of people we pray for souls and more souls be brought into your kingdom sweet pray for our lives to be changed.
