CALL TO WORSHIP-
PSALM 5:1-7
Listen to my words, Lord,
consider my lament.
2 Hear my cry for help,
my King and my God,
for to you I pray.
3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.
4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
with you, evil people are not welcome.
5 The arrogant cannot stand
in your presence.
You hate all who do wrong;
6 you destroy those who tell lies.
The bloodthirsty and deceitful
you, Lord, detest.
7 But I, by your great love,
can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down
toward your holy temple.
Luke 11:1-10
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
“ ‘Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. g
And lead us not into temptation.’ ”
5 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6 a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7 And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

PRAYING AND BELIVING ARE WAYS YOU ARE PLEASING TO GOD.
GOD IS ALREADY PLEASE WITH ALL US OF WHO ARE IN CHRIST.
PRAYER IS THE BACK BONE OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE.
IT IS OUR CELL PHONE TO GOD.
IT IS NEVER BUSY.
YOU NOT GOING TO BE PLACE ON HOLD OR LISTEN THAT DEAD ELEVATOR MUSIC OR SOME CORNY SONG-THAT CAN BE MORE PAIN THAN BEING ON HOLD

IN THIS PASSAGE FROM LUKE IN THE 11TH CHAPTER. LUKE TELLS US ,
ONE DAY
IN SOME PLACE
JESUS WAS PRAYING! HE HAD JUST SPENT TIME WITH MARTHA AND MARY AND HE ALSO HAD JUST RAISED LAZURUS FROM THE DEAD
BUT THIS DAY
IN SOME UNKNOWN PLACE
JESUS DOES WHAT HE DOES ALL THE TIME
HE PRAYS, HE PRAYS, HE PRAYS
when he was baptized he was praying;
he withdrew into the wilderness, and prayed (ch. 5:16);
he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer (ch. 6:12);
he was alone praying (ch. 9:18); soon after,
he went up into a mountain to pray, and as he prayed he was transfigured (ch. 9:28, 29); and here he was praying in a certain place. T
like DAVID he gave himself unto prayer, PSALM 109
RECONIZING THIS IS PART OF WHO JESUS IS HIS DISCIPLE ASKED, “JESUS TEACH US TO PRAY

WE NEED TO PRAY NOW MORE THAN EVRE BEFORE! WE ARE IN A CRISIS AND A PANDEMIC WITH CHALLENGES TO THE ENVIRONMENT FOOD LINES

PRAYING WITH A THANKFUL HEART OPENS THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN.
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
Jeremiah 29:12-13- Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

D. What is the bad news in our times?
Prayer is one of the great laws of natural religion. That man is a brute, is a monster, that never prays, that never gives glory to his Maker, nor feels his favour, nor owns his dependence upon him.
WHY? BECAUSE OF PRIDE AND SIN THEY REFUSE TO CALL UPON GOD FOR ANYTHING- UNTIL THE EMERGENCY ROOM SHOWS UP
THE WORD TELLS US SOONER OR LATER EVERONE WILL CALL UPON THE LORD AND EVRY KNEE SHALL BOW
F. What is good news in the text-
THE TEXT GOES ON TO SHOW HOW JESUS BEGAN TEACH THEM HOW TO PRAY AND HE ALSO EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY PRAY. HEBREW 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
