What Is Faith?

The word Faith defined in the dictionary is, confidence or trust in a person or thing.

We all have faith believe it or not we do! The question is what or who do you have faith in?

Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

This scripture is the Christian definition of faith, so what is the key elements to faith?

HOPE AND EVIDENCE!

Faith does not exist without these things! if you don't have hope the evidence of something you cant see then you have no faith.

What is hope?

Hope: The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

Hope is the base of were your faith is! we have hope in many things, so that means that we can put our faith into many things or people.

this is not necessarily a bad thing but, we must be very careful who or what we put our faith in.

Many put there hope in money! this in its self is not bad but, you must be very careful because you whole life can become about money and the pursuit of it.

let me explain, you have hope that money will make your life better and you have evidence of that hope because you have seen it make other lives better. now because of this you place you faith in worldly possessions that money can bring you.

You can use this in any area of your life!

you can place you faith in anything!

SO WHAT DO YOU HOPE FOR?

because a lot of times what we hope for becomes what we place our faith in!

that is the root of a lot of sin in this world!

we must put our hope into the things of God!

this will grow out faith in God and his power to heal our land!

it will in turn grow our faith in him to the point we can say ALL MY HOPE IS IN JESUS!!

THIS IS THE ROOT OF YOUR FAITH!
