Sometimes a little is a lot

In the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we are taught about Jesus feeding 5000 men. However, Jesus feeding the 4000 only appears in Matthew and Mark. That doesn't mean the Bible is wrong, or that it contradicts itself. It just shows how we see and hear things different.
Mark was not one of the disciples but he did travel with Paul on his first Missionary Journey. Mark includes more miracles than the other Gospels and it is interesting in how he tells what happened.
Mark 8:1–9 NLT
1 About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them, 2 “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. 3 If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.” 4 His disciples replied, “How are we supposed to find enough food to feed them out here in the wilderness?” 5 Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?” “Seven loaves,” they replied. 6 So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd. 7 A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these and told the disciples to distribute them. 8 They ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food. 9 There were about 4,000 men in the crowd that day, and Jesus sent them home after they had eaten.
This happened again. The first time was right after John the Baptist was beheaded. We still have to thank him for the little bit. Even when we get to that point again. Sometimes we begin to hold on to things for fear we wont get anymore. The disciples were still questioning how this was gonna happen. the first time they only had 5 and 2. This time they had 7 and a few! And they still didnt get the part about giving thanks for the little bit! Not even satisfied with a little growth.
Give thanks for the little bit. It happened AGAIN...
God has given us more. But we see the little bit. What did Jesus do with the little bit? He gave thanks for it, broke it and gave it.
We are going into Thanksgiving week. We are looking at how things were last year. Big celebrations huge family meals. This year we are slimming it down. Some of us may be along. We still need to give thanks for this year. Even if it is a little bit.
5 and 2 had twelve leftover, 7 and a few had seven left over.
Sometimes we gotta take a look at our little bit. We gotta give thanks for it. Then we gotta break it and look at it to see the inside. Then we can see what we can actually do so that we can give it.
